It's kind of sad. Making Sony look bad.
He was asked, "How do you view the Xbox 360 as a competitor?". His response? "The PS2 sold more than the 360 has yet" (or something like that)

Just because the PS3's sales have increased, doesn't mean that Sony should act high and mighty. Surprisingly, I'm enjoying my Xbox 360 more than my Wii or PS3. I wonder why...

Uh, thanks for that three-year-old link?
I had fun once and it was awful.

yeah, 3 years ago sony was kind of backed up against the wall making some stupid comments and selling even worse. doubt they'd make the same ones today when they're doing good for themselves. =)

remember 360 came out a full year ahead of ps3, and ps3 was pricy and only 3 mil under 360. wii just blew both out of the water!

Market trends point to the PS3 overtaking the Xbox 360 this year.
Which makes sense, in terms of technology, it's clearly the most powerful of the three consoles. There's a good line up of games, online is handled well, and the console's price is now reasonable.

Here are two much better links to what Sony reps Have been saying lately!Yeah they are talking big just like Nintendo and Microsoft. The Sony motion controller wich is so talked down on in tech demos blows the WiiMote in the dust in precision and accuracy, and Sony has also made the statement that they will be supporting the periphial with FPS games wich is what a lot of Wii gamers wanted more of. Oh.... and to give them even more reason to talk a bunch more crap......
Ubisoft is looking at developing a HD port of Red Steel 2 to the PS3!
..... Sorry but all this company trashing that goes on here and threads created with so little knowledge to the subjects is just ridicilous.

What Tretton ACTUALLY said about the 360 and PS2 was that at the time, the PS2 was outselling the 360 on a monthly basis. Which is nice, but has nothing to do with the PS3/360 competition whatsoever.
I do believe that the Ark Controller (as Sony's motion controller is commonly referred to) will be superior to Project Natal, and it will mostly likely be cheaper, to boot! I do also trust Sony's software support for the their controller more than Microsoft's for theirs. Even just at E3 last year, what was shown by Sony looked better, especially to core gamers.

IN fairness to Sony.Greenburg has been saying ALOT of crap lately so I'm not surprised they have fought back.
Good for Sony.Sick of hearing about Greenburg and how magically awesome the 360 seemingly is.
Hey greenburg:I sold my 360 and haven't looked back.

Microsoft released a statement this past week. I get G4 text daily on my phone on news updates. This one said that Microsoft made a official announcement
"The first wave of Natal games will be simple and Family-Oriented"
Ok Great...... how many Halo, Gears, Fable, MW2 fans and all these other HARDCORE GAMERS do you really think are going to run to buy Natal for family oriented jump around in front of a camera games? Seriously Microsoft? Most 360 gamers wont even put a WiiMote in their hands more less play a family oriented game on a camera based periphial. 360 is considered to be The Hardcore System (I dont agree with) and it almost looks like Microsoft is forgetting what their userbase is! I think this might be the third disappointment in XBOX history, 1. Being Blinx as the Microsoft XBOX Mascot to rival Crash/Mario (first what the !@#$ are you thinking Microsoft) 2. RROD3.Natal
.... I just dont see X360 gamers playing casual games, I might be wrong.

The 360 is a casual and hardcore console.Natal will be bought by the casual players on the system.
They Natal is the next big thing, its not. Believe me. Natal is TECHNICALLY the eye-toy 3.0.There is nothing in it that I have not seen done before.

both motion controllers will be dumb, if i wanted motion controlled games over normal games i'd have kept my wii. hope whatever AAA games released with that suppport in the future will also be made for a regular controller.

@Firkraag: I assure you I do have logical reasons for my statements. For one thing, I agree with whichever Nintendo bigwig said it's important to have some kind of controller in your hand for tactile reference. From a gamer's perspective, the demo of swordplay with ARK beats painting and jumping around like a lunatic with Natal hands-down. And now we've got the Microsoft statement Slappy mentioned to back that point up.
I have nothing against motion controls when they're implimented well. I expect to see less utter crap motion controller software for PS3 than for the other consoles due to the existing userbase. Not too likely we'll have a flood of casual Wii owners buying PS3's just for ARK. 360's for Natal, maybe, especially with Microsoft catering specifically to them at launch.

@Stuffgamer: Casual observations of very early footage isn't really logical. Neither the Sony motion controller nor Natal has really revealed enough to make an informed opinion on.

@The Fox..... you can track it down on my statement on Playstation Arc in the PS3 thread..... I had literally NO aspiration for it whatsoever. I cant stand coming off as a fanboy as Im not, BUT Sony recently released a statement that in no perfect quote was ........ "We are briging games to cater to our Core Gamers as well as casual gamers with Playstation Arc, and FPS are a big possibility". Thats no exact quote as its was a long statement, but the third parties have been reporting that they are extremely interested in Playstation Arc because of its extreme pinpoint sensitivity, and are possibly starting to develop FPS for it. That actually has me interested in the Arc. Call of Duty 3, Red Steel, Metroid Corruption are 3 of my fav games on Wii. This news has me really interested, as with the Wii the controls had Many problems, but you could deal with it if put the time in and Arc is looking to take those problems away and Sony is rumored to be working on a Nunchuk type periphial now to support FPS gaming as well. Ubisoft is also now looking to bring Red Steel 2 HD for the PS3 and PS Arc.... and that kind of news has me quite excited!

Don't know why Sony's getting all happy over sales. The console's just gonna get over-saturated with shooters just like the 360.
