Hey guys thanks for reading. So heres the deal. I have a wii and 3DS. quite honestly never felt any incentive whatsoever to buy a PS3 until this year came around. The amazing game sfor it are really making it difficult for me to keep my money in my bank account. The wii U doesn't interest me a whole lot, however i think it will bring in the ability to play a lot of the franchises and new games that i am missing right now. Just some examples are portal 2, Infamous, Uncharted, Elder Scrolls, really the list goes on. With the recent price drop do you think it would be a good idea to buy now? Or do you think Sony has something right around the corner mid-late 2013. I try to be frugal with my money, but it is becoming so difficult. Sony in my mind also has the best exclusives. so, what do you guys think, should i shell out the money, wait, not get one, just get a wii U, I really need some advice.

Portal 2 is crazy cheap on PC now, if you can run it buy it on PC.
Skyrim is also available on PC, probably cheaper too, if you can play it buy it on that, plus you get Mods on PC that you can't get on the console versions.
If you want one, buy it. If it has game you think you'll enjoy, then buy one and buy those games.

I thought about buying them for PC. One problem is my main laptop has a measly 1.6 GHz processor. I need a job so i wouldn't have to think so hard about this lol

Yeah in that case go for a PS3. I bought mine this year and I don't think I've touched my Wii much since I bought it. Shame I didn't hop on the bandwagon earlier.
If you are looking to purchase one, LA Noire, Mass Effect 2 and FF13 are great games. I haven't played anything Uncharted wise but they're great too.

The PS3 is essential if you like Japanese RPGs, too. Everything from FF13 and Nier to Atelier Rorona/ Totori and even more obscure JRPGs are all there, and all great.
In addition, since you want Skyrim, consider buying Dragon Age: Origins as well (forget about the sequel, the original is utter brilliance). In fact I prefer Origins to Skyrim.
I thought all people were born with the instinct of which game console was the best. Guess I thought wrong. Anyways, yes, get a PS3. You don't need an explanation. Just get it.
Thanks guys, just realized its 250 only, thats a really good deal! i thought it was 300. well this so far has been making me lean towards buying, but im still not sure

$250 for a 5 year old console? That's not a good deal. I'd advise waiting for the next generation of consoles to hit, rather than picking up a PS3 at the tail end of it's life cycle.

Um, actually this is about the best time you could get a PS3. It now has so many amazing games to choose from, which is like the only reason you would by a console, for the games so...
and wtf $250 is amazing for what the PS3 offers. If you're trying to compare it to the Wii's price, don't even… k I'm getting ranty I should leave u_u
