yeah I never was putting graphics as relevant to "dated".
It's probably the most important aspect to whether or not a game is dated, especially when you get to games where it's hard to make out what you're seeing.
its crazy how dated ps1 games are in comparison to the n64.
What N64 games aren't dated?
Mischief Makers, Yoshi's Story, Paper Mario, Star Fox 64, Star Wars Episode 1 Podracer, maybe some puzzle games because...puzzle games
Rare's games, the Zelda games and Kirby 64 are arguable
Maybe Yoshi's Story? I was under the impression it was dated when it came out, but I never played it, so I can't say either way.
Yoshi's Story was pretty dated when it was released. Watch an episode of Sesame Street instead of playing Yoshi's Story. It will be more difficult and last longer.
i really have to disagree i think in comparison to the playstation the n64 games are hugely more playable and attractive to look at if you compare any of the n64 greats ( zelda, banjo, cbfd ) to the playstations ( crash, medievil, even metal gear solid ) the graphics, control and gameplay seems way advanced i mean come on snake doesnt even have a face in metal gear and crash handles like a shopping trolley. things like OOT look like HD in comparison at least in my opinion.

I'm sorry that you're an angry human being who has no sense of fun.
Some of my favorite PS1 games (which I have on PSN) are Harvest Moon Back to Nature, the Resident Evil trilogy, Silent Hill and the Final Fantasy Games.
I know a few people would recommend the Spyro trilogy, but I'd only recommend the first. Gateway To Glimmer is close to mediocre, and I wouldn't like Year of The Dragon nearly as much as I do if I hadn't grown up playing it. Spyro The Dragon, on the other hand, is still full of personality and charm and just a lot of fun to explore without talking to a lot of NPCs to know what to do in the level. Of course, if talking to NPCs and playing minigames is your thing, all the better for you to get the other two.
Crash Bandicoot games are all great though. Crash Bandicoot is the one I'd recommend least since it isn't as fun to replay it, but the other two are fantastically old school. I know many people will disagree with me on that, however. I still love Warped as much as I did when I was a kid.
Jeez... I think that I might need to search this topic.

That's just off the top of my head. I'll try and think of some more for you.
For some good PC ports I'd add Civilization 2 and the command and conquer games to that list, the latter is worth it for its awesome music and awesomely cheesy cut scenes maybe even more so than the gameplay.
