Since RPGs in general are on the upswing thought it would be a good idea to have a thread compiling the next-gen ones. Not sure to put 3DS/Vita games or not.

First off... THANK YOU for starting this thread. My hype for Monolith's X is huge. I cried tears of joy when I saw the Kingdom Hearts 3 trailer. I'm very excited for Final Fantasy XV. The gameplay looks great. Its the story that worries me. I just hope Noctis doesn't turn out to be just a pretty boy with no depth OR falls under the Sasuke Uchiha Syndrome. All the other games looks pretty dang good. JRPGs/RPGs are my favorite genre!!!

I own a Wii U and 3DS. I do plan on getting a PS4 someday :D

As long as they are not turn-based JRPG's I usually enjoy them. It takes a lot for me to have from with turn-based RPG's. Guess I just really like the faster pace of real time. But that being said Witcher 3 looks amazing, X looks like it will be pretty cool, Lords of the Fallen has me pretty interested and one I can not wait for that you left off is Elder Scrolls Online.

I wish Level 5 would just do another Dark Cloud game as I did enjoy them a lot.

I don't think he added Elder Scrolls Online BECAUSE... a gamer has to pay a fee monthly to pay the game AND because of PS4/Xbox One's policies on charging for online multiplayer... the game just became really expensive. Gameinformer made article about it and tons of people were ticked.

You guys remind me why I stopped talking about RPGs I like around here...

Anyways, Final Fantasy XV looks amazing, as does Project X. I'm cautiously optimistic of Kingdom Hearts III and Cyberpunk 2077, if only because I trust their developers. I'll also be keeping an eye on Child of Light and Cosmic Star Heroine - again, I trust the developers, and the trailers looked neat. The biggest surprise for me is Natural Doctrine, if only because I love the graphical style. It's refreshing to see a Strategy RPG that doesn't use sprites. I hope it continues to exceed my expectations.

Doesn't talk about games.

So it's pricing makes it not a next gen game? That doesn't make sense.

That's a really solid list of games, I have to say. I mean obviously X elevates any game list, but the others ones are quite good and I'm kinda sad that I know Witcher is something I probably wouldn't be able to get into.

Yeah, same here. For all the positive things I've heard about it, there are still just enough things that I know would make it difficult for me to get into. The settng happens to be one of those factors for me, so I'm hoping Cyberpunk will be a bit easier to get into knowing that its not full of elves and medieval dungeons...

I decded not to put MMO's as to focus on mainly single player affairs'.

I'm in the same boat, but I'm sure Cyberpunk 2077 will be more my speed.

same here. Main problem is that I find it difficult to care about western fantasy. Western sci-fi and cyberpunk...that's something I could get into.

Only fantasy series that really has gotten me have been Fable and Dragon Age. Really bummed out that we won't see a follow up to Alpha Protcool anytime soon.

I think that this is a fantastic thread, but my I suggest removing some of the videos/images?

My 3DS' browser keeps failing to load the page, and this is a topic I'd really like to be a part of (I'm lucky to have gotten this comment in...)

With that said, I think Kingdom Hearts III, Final Fantasy XV, and X are probably my most anticipated games on the list.

For now could you replace the videos to links to said videos? My browser's constantly on the verge of crashing every time I come in here...and I'm on a desktop...

I updated the OP with images and link's to the various trailers. I also added MMO's and will probably put 3ds/vita games into the mix as well.

Out of all the games announced my top three would have to be

1.Cosmic Star Heroine
2.Final Fantasy XV
3. Soul Saga

Mostly becuase each of them are tackling three different time periods n JRPGS.

Interview with Snowcastle games about Festval of magic. What's most intresting is the delivery method.
http://www.officialnintendomagazine.co.uk/54325/features/new-...

Festival Of Magic sounds hugely ambitious for an eShop game. At the risk of asking quite a boring question, how long will it take to complete the adventure?

Frits: We want the game to gradually expand as you unlock new episodes. Episodes work more like expansion packs that also continues the main storyline. As you level up and upgrade your boat you will get access to new areas in places you visited in earlier episodes. We assume the first episode will be around 5 to 10 hours.

That said, with the episodic DLC, multiplayer gameplay and the Bi-weekly tournaments, you do seem to be making a game that will keep players playing for longer than the time to finish the story. How important is it to you to offer very good value for money?

Bendik: Festival Of Magic is a long term project for us, so having happy players is vital. The more happy players we get, the more money we will have to make new episodes and high quality gameplay. Since the game is released in DLC episodes, we need to keep the players coming back to get the next episode. One way to do this is to keep them happy and entertained in between the episodes. This is why we have included the multiplayer gameplay and the bi-weekly tournaments.

So kind of like that FFIV sequel for Wiiware. This could turn out great or awful depending on the execution. The length of the base game doesn't fill me with hope though.
