Topic: New free Valve game on Monday, because...I don't know

yeah i know what you mean that is because people are switching regions all the while to find the best download i got a consistant 490 to 510kbs from the uk manchester one for a good while.

Well it only took me about 30 min to DL so it seemed promising but once I started playing it lagged to the point of making it nigh unplayable. I know my laptop isent that great but this is still kinda disapointing.

I had a quick go myself quite a good game had to put most on medium settings for my laptop but works fine.

Servers must be doing much better now.

Took me ten minutes.

Mine says error Steam servers too busy to handle your request?
DId I ad-least buy it to where i can re-download it??

Valve could very well take a dump on a disc, mass produce it, and i would buy it and LOVE it. They make awesome games. Once i get a 360 i will get Left for Dead , i haven't had the chance to play it.

I thought it was alright, but probably not going to keep it long. Can't complain, as the price was right.

@odd69 I'd really suggest getting L4D and L4D2 on the PC. You'll get the DLC for free there.

Alien Swarm download is going... 4KB/s whoo!

I started downloading in the morning, and I came home and it was done.

Though, having a bit of trouble with steam on my virtual pc.

EDIT: sigh Wont work. Hurry up Valve and make me a Mac version.

Servers are busy

Now I've set my servers to Japan and it's speeding along. I live in Asia though so that might explain it.

Its funny how so many people are having download problems, and for once, I didn't.

Whoops...I left my computer on last night for a virus scan, and got a bunch of requests to play Alien Swarm with you guys. Sorry I wasn't there to accept them or otherwise respond.

We'll definitely play soon...probably tonight, assuming my laptop can handle it. (From the comments above, it seems likely.)

Is the game very violent (blood or anything)? Any other "mature" content?

Not running well on my machine at all. Boo. Even with the visuals turned all the way down, it's too stuttery to be any fun.

No offense to the game, of course. I've got a crappy machine...I'm just jealous of the rest of you.

I downloaded it, but can't run it well.

My dilemma is comparable to CB's, which is why I want to upgrade this suckish PC from Windows XP to Windows 7.
