Ugh, I really hate it when they release such pretentious articles. Like these guys really know everything. I know it's meerly speculation and opinion, but it's still a waste of a news piece.

My primary gripe with the Wii is its physical power. Sony, make me a Wii that doesn't look crappy

And would you like Sony to wipe your ass too?

Graphics don't make a game and it never and it never will.
But if the Wii looks so crappy why are so many games coming out as of now, (or even in the previous years), that are looking so great it's even making reviewers (even from IGN, just check out they're Red Steel 2 Video Review), confused to whether or not they're looking at a Wii game or a 360 game. Just look at Red Steel 2, Monster Hunter 3, Sin and Punishment 2, Metroid Prime 3 Corruption, RE: Darkside Chronicles, and even Tatsunoko vs.Capcom and tell me they look like crap when they have some of the best graphics (let alone they're some of the best games on Wii).

And the MOVE won't move Sony in the right direction from what I've seen so far. If they can't provide worth-while games for the hardware why buy it?

To compliment their fantastic new motion controller, I think Sony will announce some kind of fitness device, one that weighs you and encourages you to lose weight through exercise and fun, wowing audiences in the process.

That'll never happen!

Graphics don't make a game and it never and it never will.

But they sure help make a game an entertaining experience. FFXIII just wouldn't work as well as it does if it wasn't spectacular.

Of course, it's only natural that Nintendo fanboys would try and claim the thing Nintendo consoles do badly are irrelevant.

It's simple: don't screw up Move like Sony did with the PSP Go and initially the PS3

Well, both the PSP Go and PS3 were ahead of their time (only now is the PS3 coming into relevance, and the PSP Go is still only a vision of the future).

The Move is different. It's existing, and proven technology.

Not the last part, at least.

Exactly what I was thinking. :l
Graphics can help put you into a world much more easily, like what you mentioned with FFXIII. Uncharted 2, the future Alan Wake, and some other titles that feature terrific graphics wouldn't be able to get you liking the experience nearly as much, because it wouldn't be able to immerse you.
Also, there's amount of AI, cleverness of AI, and systems that the PS3/XBOX 360 are capable of and the Wii aren't able to take advantage of.

Not to mention the improved online capabilities that the more advanced consoles are capable of, not to mention the ability for those consoles to multi-task, etc etc.

Not that I'm criticising the Wii, I love it, but fanboys really need to grow up.

So FFXIII wouldn't have done as well if the graphics weren't as good as they are? I don't think so. FFCC:CB for Wii had great graphics but that game sucks. (IMO ofcourse.)

What I'm trying to say is that graphics don't matter and that yeah there nice to look at but what else does it benefit?
"Oh my god that looked amazing!".... Then what? You wanna keep seeing that amazing Metal Gear Rex, shooting at you and what not, with the gorgeous explosions, or do you wanna kick Liquid's ass and get on with the game play and storyline? You know, two of many elements that make a video game... a video game.

And we don't know this by now?
But even so, the Wii can provide some pretty good AI enemies/teamamtes just look at The Conduit for an example.

@moomoo.... your exaclty right my friend. When you take the games running on the Wii that try to compare to the PS3/360 they fail in comparison. Fanboys scream graphics, graphics, graphics but so little do they know. Take any racing game on the Wii and then go pop in Dirt 2 on PS3/360. The way it controls, the precision in the driving. Car Physics that are so incredibly realistic but playable. Graphic yes are prob 4-5 times better than anything on Wii with it dynamic lighting, frame rate (especially when driving in car) and biggest of all..... DISTANCE of view. Making the gameplay on a entirely different level.......

I say all that to say this..... Nintendo games and games on the Wii dont need to be compared to PS3/360. The games are suppose to be different and anyone trying to compare lets say..... Uncharted 2 to Super Mario Galaxy is obviously a Nintendo Fanboy that if you went and bought them a PS3/360 today come next week they would have a whole different story.

Who cares who Wins E3?
1. Nintendo is promising 30 new games and we will get to see more on Metroid: Other M (75% of the reason I purchased a Black Wii less than 2 hours ago)
2. Sonys Move IS shaping up to be a really good addition to the PS3 as game reviewers have finally gotten hands on time with it and had Really good thing to say about it. Not to mention EyePet is coming to US with Move and Im dying to see what Move has integrated into it different than the European Release.
3. Not a lot of talk about Microsofts Natal lately but Im really curious to see what Microsoft is doing with Natal. It seems a little quite on Microsofts end since Move has started to gain respect around the world, but Im sure they will show some amazing stuff as well, not to mention Halo Reach!
4. WiiWare, DSiWare, PS3 and XBOX DLC Games, maybe some new DS games
5. 3DS anyone..... Im still curious about this one somewhat!

FFXIII would not be the same game if it looked like arse. Fact. FFXIII is an experience, not a game. It's a visual, audio and story-driven experience.

Visuals are important in modern entertainment. We want movies that look good. We want animations that look good. To claim that games shouldn't strive to look good is crazy. "Looking good" is broad, of course - minimalistic games like Art Style games are an incredible-looking game, but to say "graphics aren't imporant" is massively understating what graphics can do to enhance the game experience.

Do some research into the laws of aesthetics.

Slapshot

.....not to mention Heavy Rain would NOT be the same if it wasnt for the incredible visuals that add so many dynamics to the mood and settings of the gameplay.
