Really hope FE Warriors will have the same mechanic of Hyrule Warriors Legends and Samurai Warriors Chronicles of controlling more characters for each stage and be able to order them where to move around the map.
Apart be a comfy option, it add to the strategy, it's definitely more fun to switch around characters and, most importantly, having more characters on the map and carefully plan their position it's literally at the core of a Fire Emblem experience; not putting a mechanic they are already very familiar with for a franchise based around it would be criminal XD
I agree but let's face it Schadow dragon was always going to be mentioned as one of the games they are taking characters of. As the most famous Fire emblem character of all comes from that game but if Marth is the most popular male character in the franchise then Lyndis is the most important female one or at least in the west.
I don't know if Lyndis could make it, even if I want her - Ryoma's participation is almost confirmed, and he has the same type as Lyn, fast strokes, high crit chance but crappy defense.
In that case, I would like more that they bring over Hector since he's the only Axe Lord in the series, and could have a fighting style far different than the sword users. He's also well known, and could be the reckless one of the bunch.
Same here but the problem with most lords are that they all use swords and have the same style. Besides Ike , Lyndis and Erika i think most lords use Marth's fighting style in some form.
Hector to represent the fighter/warrior makes senses.
Alright i was just thinking of lords that i knew about who used swords. As i believe Hector , Ephraim , Micaiah , Robin and Elincia would be different. As for Alm and Sigurd well my knowledge of fire emblem only goes to the first fire emblem that was on the GBA.
Also forgot about Sothe as a character that would earn you a game over when killed.
Keep expectations in check and look at Hyrule Warriors:
16 characters at launch (technically 13, but the three villains became playable via update almost immediately afterwords), with Link, Zelda, Lana, and Impa having two weapon types (three for Link if you count the Spinner). As such, I'd expect about 20 characters. As for who the playable characters will be:
1. A game-specific avatar
2. Chrom
3. Lucina
4. Robin (gender changed via alt-costume, with any story relevant appearances either decided by the game-specific's gender or defaulting to male, due to IS pushing M!Robin)
5. Corrin (see Robin, except IS pushes F!Corrin more)
6. Azura
7. Kaze
8. Ryoma
9. Xander
10. Takumi
11. Leo
12. Camilla
13. Marth
14. Caeda
15. Draug
16. Anna
17. Gharnef
18. Hardin
19. Garon
20. Walhart
Call me a pessimist or a realist on this; I think people expecting Ike and Roy at launch just because they're in Smash will be surprised/disappointed.
I wonder if Fire Emblem Warriors will release in the holiday or not. On Nintendo of America's YouTube video it says Holiday 2017, but it could be due to Xenoblade 2's trailer appearing with FE Warriors and getting a 2017 date. I've been searching on Nintendo's official website as well as the Japanese version and can't find a release date mentioned anywhere. (The Japanese site doesn't even have a page for it yet either it seems and the YouTube channel doesn't have the video aside from the Switch presentation)
Since we didn't see a release date when the video was first shown and we hardly saw anything from the game, I had always assumed it would launch next year until I heard people saying it was set for holiday 2017.

I hope they make tweaks to leveling and gearing. Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate had a dedicated XP currency, and more flexible weapon skill transferring. Hyrule Warriors was fun, but I often felt like I hit a wall in progression because leveling got a lot slower fairly early on, and you needed to use rupees for everything. And too many materials, too many levels to remember where X character was featured so you could farm them.
If you had the Master Quest map, it had a mission where you can level up really fast.

You know, Hyrule Warriors was a fantastic co-op game. Or would've been if it had online. But with their new online service I'm thinking they're going to include online in pretty much any game that has multiplayer.
And as much as I liked HW, it took a really big hit on the gamepad. Did not look that good at all. This game will look super crisp and clean when playing on the portable screen and we should most definitely get online play which means we can all play with each other!

@Tsurii haha, I didn't put quite as much time into it... Maybe Splatoon took up some of that though.
Hyrule Warriors was first announced in December of 2013 and released in August/September 2014 so it wasn't that much longer after the first trailer. Although it showed a lot more than the FE one (but at the same time, they could just be waiting for the Fire Emblem Direct so we shall see)

Well i can't wait as we got a little less then 10 hours to go. Just hope it won't be like the pokemon direct we got last year as it was a bit of a disappointment in my opinion.
