@OorWullie Blurry, muddy, it just looks low res. And in ways very stale.

Thing is, this game is very much on my watch list, but these images aren't doing it for me.

And sadly, I know part of me thinking it looks bad, is because I'm colour blind. So while some would see a lower res image, I barely see anything at all beyond generic shapes, most detail is lost.

And we have no idea if the colour blind modes will be maintained coming over, so until there is that confirmed, I'm going to need to hold off and try and visualise this game in my head instead of the mess I see in images.

No idea what you're talking about, game looks incredible. Not sure why you would expect 4K images off of a switch that taps out at 720p. Zelda looked no sharper. No better.

I'm sure it plays fine. There is an old adage as old as gaming itself. Graphics don't make a game.

@JaxonH Im saying it looks bad because in my eyes...it does. I have a hard enough time playing the game on PS4 without using colour blind modes! I dont expect 4k, as I cant see that either, but the lower resolution is making something I already have issues seeing, even worse.

So until this port has confirmed colour blind modes, I cant give a verdict on how it looks as it does look damn near unplayable.

And being a game ported to a Nintendo system there is precedence for features to be missing...

But even if graphics don't make a game, they look amazing here all the same. This is one of the best looking games on the Switch I've seen.

If someone is using graphics as an argument against this game they probably have an agenda. Because this is about as good as it gets on Switch. This is what handheld gaming has evolved into.

If Switch graphics aren't satisfactory, can always go back to playing on the DS and PSP.

Still, I cant say much about how thr game looks to the general public because I cant see it. This is just what I see until I can see the game with Deuteranopia mode on in screenshots or unfortunately, post release, if anyone even bothers

@MsJubilee Sure, but it's still impressive that the lil' Switch can pull off faithful looking conversions of games.

I'm replaying this on my PS4 this weekend and the multiplayer is kinda dead. So a double dip for Multiplayer is what I'll be getting this mostly for.

I can't wait to see this game running on Switch right in front of me.

After seeing FIFA 18 and how incredible it is to have such a huge AAA game crammed into a little cartridge, I can only imagine how awesome it will be to see the likes of NBA 2k18, DOOM, LA Noire, Resident Evil Revelations 1/2, Wolfenstein 2, etc.

@BLP_Software It could also be how the images are compressed and uploaded. Like MP3 are transparent to healthy ears but actually people with hearing impairment can tell them apart. Just a guess.

To be honest it just looks like a step above doom 3 graphically.

That's a lie.. it looks quite great... the only thing i see is it struggles with framerate but i have no doubt Carmack the coding genius will smooth it out before release.

Graphically it looks almost just like the bleeding edge current gen DOOM, only at a lower res and slightly less detailed textures. And that should come at no surprise... because that's exactly what it is.

Nintendo gamers have been sold a bill of goods by spiteful onlookers who resent the notion of games like this coming to the system. They're peddling that elitist nonsense in hopes of convincing Switch owners "that doesn't really look good, oh look how horrible that is, oh what a joke it runs at this fps?" etc. And Nintendo gamers are regrettably swallowing it hook, line and sinker. Meanwhile these people are laughing at everyone they peddled that nonsense to.

Before Switch, we had Call of Duty Black Ops 2 Declassified. Before Switch, we had Resistance Burning Skies. Two of the absolute worst games in existence and yet, 2 of the absolute best portable FPS to date. Now, we are literally seeing current gen games like DOOM run on a handheld device, yet instead of looking at how far we've come and what a huge advance this is over previous generations, we've let the focus shift instead to comparing it to all out power consoles, nitpicking any little difference, looking for even one single less mode, looking for any lower pixel count- anything at all that can be used as ammo to say "see, this game is trash... see, this is so inferior". Well no crap it's inferior! It's on a portable system! But instead of looking at how amazing FIFA 18 is to FIFA legacy versions on 3DS/Vita, instead of looking at how amazing DOOM is on Switch versus CoD/Resistance on Vita, instead of acknowledging what a superior and frankly mind blowing experience this is compared to what we've had in the past... The focus is instead shifted to comparing it to something that is innately going to look better, run better, and have a larger packages a whole... because that's the only way people can spin this as a negative.

And ever since, the entire focus has stayed on the negative. Here we are a month away from playing mother freaking DOOM 2016 on a portable device, and all people seem to have to say is how bad it looks or how unplayable it will be.

@JaxonH To be fair, I only think it looks bad because they wont show anything I can properly see and assess until post launch if any players or journalists bother to use those settings.

@JaxonH Might want to take a break from the internet. Most people, and probably most Switch owners, don't think this game looks bad at all. Trolls are just louder and more annoying than most people. It's why the Nintendo Switch is selling so well even though there was almost non-stop trolling and negativity about the Switch online before launch.

Looks wonderful to me. I worry for framerate, naturally. I loved the game so much because of how buttery smooth it was. Take that away and I worry it won't be a compelling experience. Either way, I hope this does super super well so we can get DOOM 2 (2018) at the same time as the other consoles and hopefully they'll have had enough time to manage 720p 60fps !
