Eventually, I will double-dip this one since Tropical Freeze is one of my favourite games of all times. However firstly, Nintendo has to sell me a Switch. At this point, I don't see a single new game for 2018 that I am interested in. Therefore, I won't buy a Switch now. We will see what Nintendo announces.
By the way, I am not happy with Funky, here. Tropical Freeze is great because it is hard. I wonder if Dark Souls comes also with an "assist mode"...
I really liked Tropical Freeze on Wii U but I have no reason to buy it again. It's nice to have Funky Kong as a playable character but he seems to be an easy mode instead. I would've considered it if it had Returns as well.
It's its, not it's.

Tropical Freeze was really close to the top of the list of games I wanted to see ported over from the WiiU, but I really wasn't expecting it this year knowing that Nintendo already had a couple of 2D platformers scheduled for a 2018 release...as someone who never owned the WiiU - and doesn't get particularly excited by Kirby/Yoshi games - this was a really welcome and surprising announcement!
I was hoping for something along the lines of New Super Mario Bros. - and I feel like this more than ticks that box! Very happy!
I'm double dipping on this one for sure, always been a huge DK fan. This is probably the best game on the wii u to me and DK on 3ds is so underappreciated it's crazy. Would be nice to see some banana themed joy con
I really enjoyed playing DK:TF, but I never got around to finishing this game on the Wii U before I traded mine in so I'll probably get the Switch port.
I'm just resigning myself to the fact that I'll be repurchasing a bunch of games on Switch that I already own on home consoles because I'll actually play them here.
If they put any extra "difficult" content in I would definitely double dip. But as it stands I only play the game every few years or so, so there's no reason to double dip.
Bundling it with Returns would have also made the deal. Returns in HD would be gorgeous!

I don't care about this cos I'm happy with the Wii U version but I just wanted to drop in and say "he's a real virtuous dude" was the best line in this direct.
@Dev I think it's just the idea of having both on the same system being better than just Tropical Freeze. To me it feels like Nintendo's probably going to take the approach of focusing on Wii U games for porting and pre-Wii U games coming to Switch via whatever Nintendo's VC replacement is. So like XCX getting a port while XC comes via the VC replacement.
@Dev I disagree. The controls and the designs, the variety, a lot of TF is better. However, they are both high quality platformers, and since Returns is longer I much prefer Returns. Plus the Cranky, Diddy, Dixie triangle doesn't work so well, is one strike I can say against TF. I actually have a bunch of minor strikes against TF, but it's the length that really does it.
