The ones in three are less "I'm on drugs and I will rip your face off and wear it myself", and more "the lord is my savior and he wants me to kill you".

The vigors in three never reached the same level of abuse as the plasmids in the other two, so the people in Columbia are very much just normal zealots (some with super powers).

Jumped back into Bioshock today, as I needed a break from all the grinding in Xenoblade Chronicles, and Borderlands 2 is on pause waiting to co-op with others.

I’m giddy over how much I like this game. It’s not my first time playing, as I put a few hours into them on Steam. But this is the first time it’s gotten its hooks into me. I can imagine how impressive this game would’ve been back at the start of the 7th generation. Wow. Going from PS2 games, to this? Incredible. Absolutely incredible.

Even now, it’s still as good as ever.

@WoomyNNYes Bioshock 2 is pretty similar to 1, but Infinite has a completely different vibe to it. I don't remember ever getting a horror vibe from Infinite. It helps that the setting is almost the complete opposite too, with Infinite often being very bright. It also helps that you have a human companion with you to talk you through things. Basically, Bioshock 1 is more of an eerie suspense kind of game while infinite is more of a thriller action imo.

I personally really enjoyed the atmosphere of the first 2 Bioshock games, but I still think Infinite is easily the best game of the 3. I think you'll enjoy it much more especially if Rapture turns you off.

Ok. I'm a baby. We'll get that part out of the way I played an hour of Bioshock 1. While it is cool, at the moment, I'm not feeling the grim/murderous/horror phsycho enemies. The horror sound design & tension is wearing on me. (I admit it's well executed). I know I'm more sensitive to this stuff than most people. Are BioShock 2 or 3 any less grim/murderous/horror? Forgive me if that seems like a ridiculous question. I realize asking this question might be like saying, are there any hershey bars that don't have chocolate?

This is certainly nothing to feel badly over, and I had a similar reaction myself when playing the game after its initial release... In truth I haven't revisited the series since! Although, to echo what some others have said, Infinite seems much more in line with what I would enjoy from a shooter these days.

Game is tough as nails sometimes. Just killed my first few Big Daddies... wow.

Died like 20-30 times already. It's easy to get caught without ammo or money or life EVE, respawning with your wrench and dying again. But that's mostly from the Big Daddies. Have died from turrets a few times.

Finally just put on Easy but so far it's been ridiculously easy, to the point I'll probably just go back to medium. I've upgraded a few times now so that should help.

@JaxonH Big Daddies require armor piercing rounds. If you find those keep them and do not use them on anything else. Also if I am not mistaken you can craft those as well.

Also if you are up to that point in the game take photos of Big Daddies. This will help you do more damage to them.

Just to add the armour piercing rounds for the pistol don't really help with the Big Daddies, the armour piercing rounds for the shotgun or machine gun are better. I prefer the electric bucks in the earlier stages of the game for the Big Daddies.

I feel like alot has happened since I made that post. I've since switched back to medium and I'm straight wrecking now. Once I got a few upgrades, snapped a few pics, learned some strategies, now I'm hunting Big Daddies like they're Little Sisters. When the rocket launcher comes out to play, the Big Daddies hit the floor!

@WoomyNNYes @OptometristLime Infinite is not it as dark as Bioshock 1 or 2. It is more I want to a.political thriller then actual horror if that makes sense. I actually prefer Infinite more then 1 or 2 it doesn't feel as claustrophobic as those 2.

Would've bought these in a heartbeat if they had gyro controls. For now I'll wait it out, Bioshock (1) is definitely one of my most loved games though.

@Monkeido
Definitely would have been better with gyro. I rallied the base 😉 and hit every YouTube video and Reddit post I knew of linking to their Twitter and got a pretty sizable group of people requesting it. Maybe they’ll patch it in.

But I have to admit, this is a rare exception of a game that actually still works surprisingly well without gyro. Obviously it will never be as good as it could be with it, but in contrast with most other games, it functions quite well as it is. I think it’s just because the analog controls are so well done, it has such a focus on slower paced atmospheric exploration rather than a run-n-gun high octane FPS, and enemies aren’t zig zagging all over the place like in, for example, Borderlands. Not to mention the plasmids often don’t require perfect precision.

But ya, such a great game. I played it for so long this morning I had to switch to something else because I felt zombified from such a long binge. It was like, Idk. 5 straight hours of Bioshock. Rarely do I binge that long, but Xenoblade, Bioshock and Borderlands 2 all have had me doing 4-5 hr binge sessions lately. A testament to how good these games really are.

@JaxonH Good job! Let's hope something comes out of it. I understand your point though, that gyro isn't that important for Bioshock due to it's slower pace. I'd still prefer to have it, but I'll eventually buy the game anyway, whether they add it or not.

For bioshock 1; Im at Apollo square and about to head to hestia chamber. I feel like I'm near the end of the game or close to. About how much longer would you say I have until the credits roll?

Ordered this in the Target sale and it should be arriving tomorrow. I've played about an hour or so of the original on PS3, but I'm really looking forward to finally diving into Rapture for real.

Bought Bioshock the other day and I have completed the first section and just about to start in Neptune.

I chose Bioshock over Borderlands because I did not like the idea of codes in the physical box, making any trade-in value redundant. But I was wondering if the lack of motion control would be an issue in Bioshock. It is.

Graphics are good, but the action can be fast and explosive when you are attacked. The gun crosshair is hard to see and aiming is random.

This does reduce what seems to be a great game to just a good one; and there is another two to play as well.

I am thinking, as the game gets tougher so will the aiming, then frustrating creeps in and the other two games don't get played.

I’ve beat all the Bioshock’s over 50x’s. Yes I am a psycho Shock fan. Favorite franchise of all time.

To answer your question it depends. If you’re racing through objectives, not exploring every nook and cranny about an hour. If you are then approx 1hr 45min maybe more if you’re a noob to the franchise. No offense at all. It’s hard for me to even remember playing all 3 Bioshock’s not having every level memorized. Haha. Crazy, I know. @NintendoByNature

Does anyone know this 💯 for sure?

In Clash in The Clouds - If you save at the book counter manually, and quit the game. Does it save whatever current wave you’re on?

Man, while I'm not really scared, I definitely feel in the same boat as @WoomyNNYes My wife is out of town so I thought after I got the kids to bed at 9 last night I would just have a marathon session until my battery died. I had to quit at about 10:15-10:30 because that was all I could handle of the atmosphere and tension. It's not quite as bad as Hollow Knight, where I don't think I could reach an hour before feeling super depressed and having to quit, but it's close. I definitely like it and will keep playing, I just can't play it for very long in one sitting, apparently.
