For the sake of simplicity I'm going to assume it's a console. Handheld reveals are way lower key and hard to be realistic about. And on that topic, try to keep it realistic.

Type of presentation (Direct/Digital Event/Live/Other): Live
When?: During the E3 presentation
What is physically revealed? (No physical reveal/Console reveal/Controller reveal/Other): Reveal the full console and controller
Who Presents?: Reggie

Game announcement 1: Wii Spots/NintendoLand esque tech demo
Game announcement 2: Zelda U cross-gen
Game announcement 3: Mario Party 11 coming to both Wii U and NX
Game announcement 4: Minecraft for NX
Game announcement 5: Next 3D Mario game
Game announcement 6: Dragon Quest XI localization
Game announcement 7: First reveal of a new Superman game from Rocksteady
(There would be more games, but this is everything for NX)

Non-Game announcement: Compatibility with the Google Play store

Currently Playing: Steamworld Heist, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Tales of Graces F

Ok I am going to describe the entire thing. The stage at E3 will open up in bright red and white then Reggie will walk out. He will then talk about how much he loves the fans and stuff. Next will be samus shoes running and then jumping on top of a triforce. The Triforce spins and we will see all these different nintendo characters spill on the screen to say THANK YOU IWATA.

Next the screen will turn black and it will show some alpha footage of a new metroid. Once the footage is over Reggie will hold up the New NX controller....crowd applauds and reggie will say that this is the next step for nintendo and the screens will show the NX and the specs of the system. Reggie will show games like Zelda U, Dragon quest and a 5 minute reel of hundreds VC games. the event will next show that we now have a upgraded verion of nintendo ID and the new club nintendo is tied to the ID system. Lastly the screen fades back and BAM a crack goes through the screen and shows POKKEN.

Playing: Wargroove on Switch and Fire Emblem on GBA

I don't think they are going to do an Iwata tribute a year after the fact, otherwise, neat.

Nintendo direct a few days or weeks before E3 reveals the hardware (Not the controller) gives a basic overview of its potential. E3 is for showing off actual games where people can demo them. At E3 they only focus on launch day titles and launch windows. Scheduled for release winter 2016.

For the sake of variety, I'm going to assume it's a handheld and it'll be revealed early next year, not at E3.
They'd hold a live conference, either at their own event or some other gaming/tech convention (maybe CES, but that'd be VERY early).
The show starts, a timeline animation shows the history of Nintendo handhelds, from the Game & Watch to the New 3DS. It end with '2016: the next generation of portable gaming begins' or something.
Then, Reggie appears and talks some PR, stressing Nintendo's 'dedication to portable' gaming and their 'desire to create experiences you can't find on other portable hardware.' He'll also drop some one-liner about how they made, owned and dominated portable gaming for decades, and will continue to do so with......... the all-new.......... Niiiiiiiiiiiiinteeeeeeeendoooooooooooooooooooooo ALPHA!
Finally, a video plays showing the device, highlighting specs and features, ending with 'holiday 2016' because duh. Reggie then goes on to talk about the development of the device, how it represents the transition Nintendo is in, yadda yadda. He'll end with how they negotiated with many third parties about the device, promising us healthy software support from all major parties.
'And with that, let's talk some games!'
First, a few ports of Wii U-titles are shown, most notably Splatoon and Super Mario Maker. Then a slew of indie titles among which, of course, Minecraft. Then, some big, exclusive third party game is talked about before finally switching over to first-party launch titles. The Nintendo Alpha's biggest launch title(s) will be two completely new Pokémon games, one of the 'forgotten franchises' will a reboot to reel in the hardcore Nintendo fan, and a new Animal Crossing will have to appeal to the filthy casuals, and a new pet project by Miyamoto so that he gets some stage time too. More game announcements to come at E3.
Finally, some more talk about online functionality, nonspecific release information before dropping one last teaser at a big game coming in 2017.
'See you at E3!'

Easy. They do afireworks presentation, set the stage on fire, and have someone carrying the NX leap out of the flames in glory, while riding atop a bear, riding atop a shark, riding atop a dinosaur, riding atop a go-karting dog, while saying everything that will be on it, including: A new 3D Mario, a new F-Zero, Zelda NX, Starfox One, Poken Fighters, a new Kirby game, Mother 4, Metroid Prime 4, Animal Crossing NX, SplaTWOon, Kid Icarus Uprising 2,new Golden Sun, new Wario Land, new Donkey Kong Country, Mario Kart NX, Smash NX, new Xenoblade Chronicles, and Reggie: The Experience. In addition to that, it's revealed that every single 3rd-party game you could imagine will be on it, INCLUDING Microsoft and Sony's ips. They watched it live and realized that they can't compete with it's holyness, so they teleport there to reveal that they can't do sh*t to compete with it, so they just go third-party. he NX's reveal also causes world, no, UNIVERSAL peace...and if you pre-order it, you get an easy-bake oven.
Edit: Does "Within reason" mean it can't be THIS ridiculous?

I could describe a bunch of things but "it is a console with a good mix of interesting 1st and 3rd party support" combined with Nintendo paying money to make Beyond Good and Evil 2 a thing that exist would make it 95% my ideal conference regardless of almost any other context.

Nintendo announces the NX console in an event a few months before E3, the focus being the actual console but announcing some launch titles as well. These are mostly major third party titles from both western developers (CoD, Assassin's Creed, FIFA, etc.) and Japanese developers (Dragon Quest, Tomb Raider, Bayonetta, Resident Evil, etc.) but all those games are not gimped in anyway way compared with the PS4 and XB1 versions. Nintendo mentions that all eshop purchases on Wii U transfer for free and that you can play your Wii U physical discs along with other things relating to the Club Nintendo replacement. Finally as a teaser for E3 they reveal the new true 3D Mario and true home console Animal Crossing.

At E3 Nintendo then focuses on 1st party titles announcing true entries in dormant franchises like Metroid and F-Zero but also more footage of the already revealed games. The final huge surprise at the end is infact Rock Band 4 for NX allowing Wii fans to finally get back to Rock Band of which the 6 early 2015 DLC songs are included for free. The event closes with [insert song that's on disc and popular in 2016].

This ideal event is probably going a bit too far but I really hope the first paragraph is true. NX is dead even before it's launched if there's not a good third party lineup.

In a special pre E3 2016 Direct the Nintendo Conexus (Latin for united, connected, joined) will be unveiled along with a couple of teasers of 1st party launch games and confirmation that many big 3rd parties will be on board. The big launch window reveals will be saved for E3.It will release holiday 2016 with 4 options.

1.Home console with no controller.- £199
2.Home console with Motion Pro Controller - £249
3.Home console with portable console that doubles as a Gamepad - £349
4.Portable console / Gamepad only - £179

Option 1 is for existing Wii U owners who can use their Gamepad as their main Conexus controller,Wii U Pro controller will also be supported.
Option 2 is for non Wii U owners. The Motion Pro controller is basically a Gamepad without the touchscreen and can be used in all games as the main controller. The Motion Pro will also be available separately.
Option 3 is for those who want both a home and portable console.
Option 4 is for those only interested in a portable console as well as giving Conexus the ability for dual Gamepad support.

All Wii U games can be played on the Conexus day one but only digitally, those with discs will be given download codes. You wont even need to download your Eshop purchases again as you can use the external hard drive all your purchases are on.Power wise it'll be on par with the Xbox One with the portable being more like the Vita. Connexus and Wii U games can only be streamed to the portable/Gamepad when at home but it will still have it's own library of handheld games as well as everything on Google Play .In reverse your handheld games can be played on the TV.3DS games will also be supported.

E3 will be where the hype increases ten fold.It will be a live show with games, games, games and the audience will be on their feet cheering like the Twilight Princess reveal from start to finish.Zelda at launch,Retro's Metroid coming in launch window,Mario Kart 9 coming to home and handheld within the first year while MK8 will continue to be supported in the meantime with more DLC.A list of 3rd party including FIFA,Battlefield,COD Then towards the end of the show they announce Galaxy 1 and 2 remastered for the home console and a new 3D Mario for handheld by a new team of young developers within Nintendo EAD.Many will be slightly disappointed that the new Mario is for the handheld (even though it can still be played on the TV) and then wonder what EAD Tokyo must be up to.Then we find out exactly what they've been up to.The megaton where jaws will drop and 30 somethings will cry Star Wars .No extra names like Battlefront or Force Awakens.Just Star Wars! By the developers of some of the highest rated games in history and exclusive to Conexus. We then witness one of if not THE most exciting game trailers in history and right at the end a flash of tons of amiibo that will be launching alongside it.Star Wars by Nintendo coming holiday 2017.

@Megumi: NoA tweeted out a survey and while my views probably mean nothing, I mentioned in there that after Super Mario Maker I want 2D Mario to have a 5-10 year break.

@Grumblevolcano:
Is it a recent survey? I'd make that kind of comment too, I want to see more 3D Marios and even more than that, Nintendo IP's that have been ignored for far too long (F-Zero).

It would be great if David Wise made soundtracks to all future Nintendo games.

@Luffymcduck: Yesterday and it's rather long. Goes over stuff such as social media presence, what you thought of E3 2015, AMIIBO, stuff you want to see regarding NX and general improvements wanted. http://Ninten.do/6017B1ctz

Thanks, gotta post a comment there.

What I want from NX reveal event that they confirm that the system is at least on par with PS4 and Xbox One, because those systems will be 2 and half years old by the time E3 is next year. NX needs great 1st party titles but also 3rd PARTY SUPPORT. Sure, you can get Nintendo and then PC for everything else but not everyone has a gaming PC and PS4 seems to be selling really well... so I'm sure good 3rd party support does have something to do with the sales.

It would be great if David Wise made soundtracks to all future Nintendo games.

Surprise Nintendo Direct reveal towards end of holidays, leaning towards hardware basics, looking less like an actual game system and more like a small electronic box, with focus toward the controller resembling a remote/handheld/glove/something else, only cutting edge. Usual stuff.
