Judging from all I've seen and read I think Assassin's Creed IV would've been my Game of the Month for October had I played it but I'm waiting for the PS4 version so I'll go with Batman: Arkham Origins. Not a legit GOTY contender or one of the top 15 best releases of the current gen like the two prior Arkham games but still a very good game. It's 'more of the same' but when what it's borrowing from is as great as Asylum and City, that's not really a bad thing. From a story perspective I might actually like Origins the best of the 3 games.

It's officially December, meaning it's time to think of November's Game of the Month
It's been a great month for me, from Hatsune Miku, to Runner 2, to starting Earthbound and Mega Man. Yet everything falls in comparison to Super Mario 3D World. It's a spectacular platformer, as it has always been, leaving me with both quality and quantity to go up for game of the year. Previous Winners:
August: Disney Infinity
September: Shantate Risky's Revenge
October: Pokemon Y
Definitely ALBW. I can't say enough good things about this game, and Princess Hilda? Perfection. I just got the game Saturday (had it pre-ordered, but I'm currently living abroad in Germany so it took forever to get to me), so I haven't beaten it yet, but gah, I spend every minute I can on this game.
Well without a doubt my game of the month is............
Resogun PS4
Yep you heard me right Resogun. As much as I love A Link Between Worlds, Resogun took me completely by surprise. Now ALBW is the best Zelda that I have played in awhile and the fact that its a sequel to A Link to the Past which is my favorite Zelda but I dont know there is just something about Resogun.
Its been years since I played a good shoot em up and at first I downloaded it just because it was free but honestly I would have paid for this game. As I said I haven't been this envolved with a shoot em up in years. Everything is great about this game, the music, the weapons and the cylindrical level design is a really nice touch. This game is addictive too I have sat down to play it and only to discover that hours have passed lol. Easily my most played PS4 game.
Did I miss December?
Well it was Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D. Because the game is amazing, beautiful and addicting.
January's Game of the Month would also be Peggle. Because that game is also extremely addicting. Can't wait to play Peggle 2 on IOS.
Previous Game of the Months
November: Super Mario 3D World
October: Pokemon Y
September: Shantae Risky's Revenge
August: Disney Infinity
For January, I'd have to say Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3! Although it doesn't surpass SMW, I can definitely see why the game is so loved (the bosses in this game are awesome!).
A close runner up would be Kirby & the Amazing Mirror, for it's interesting Metroidvania take on Kirby platforming.
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
My game of the month for January is Papo & Yo. I got it as part of Humble Bundle X and I've enjoyed it thoroughly. I'm only about halfway, to my understanding, but the few hours I've put into this game have stuck with me much more than even my experience with F-Zero GX, which would otherwise have been my game of the month in all likelyhood. I still need to put time into the other games in the Humble Bundle (Perfected the 1st World of Runner 2, I've finished half of Strike Suit Zero, I've killed the first Orange Frog in Toki Tori 2+, and played a bit of Reus), but so far Papo & Yo has been the winner.

Well new games have been slim for me due to my money being tied up in moving.
Since I missed December my game for the month for December would be
Walking Dead Season 2 Episode 1
How could it not be. This was one of my most anticipated game for 2013 and it didn't disappoint. Nice to end 2013 on a good note.
For January my game of the month is
Lego Marvel Superheroes
Its been years since I played a IP based Lego Game and but I had to try this one out since it was Marvel. I have to say I am enjoying this one alot between the levels and the hubworld of NYC there is plenty to do in this game.

Bugs VS Tanks - I got this during the Level 5 sale. I'm a sucker for tank games, and I thought this was a real good one. There are tons of real world tanks to collect & mix, a bunch of different bugs to fight, and 40 single player missions to tackle in various environments. It was simply cool. While I wouldn't necessarily say it was better than Attack of the Friday Monsters (another game I got during the sale), It was a bigger surprise, so I'll give it the edge.
That's not to say it's without it's flaws though. The gameplay doesn't really change much at all (besides having to be more careful manoeuvring around the later, more dangerous, environments), and my biggest gripe with the game, you have to beat the 15 Co-Op missions to collect all tank & bug types, whose difficulty is so inflated it's impossible to do solo (and good luck finding someone else with the game to do them with).
Still, it was definitely a worthwhile purchase at the sale price, and I think a case could be made for it even at full price.
Runner Up: Attack of the Friday Monsters! A Tokyo Tale
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
This is my first time playing a Strider game and I have to say I was blown away by it. I love the fact that it's Metroidvania style but the combat is just so fast paced that's alot of fun. Add to it the awesome sound track and graphics and if feels like this game should be alot more then $15. Kinda makes me want to go back an play the older Strider games to see what I have been missing.
