I wanted the most offensive username I could get away with. And still, nobody's figured it out. JK. Because they say woomy & nyes in Splatoon. Although, the spelling I always see is "ngyes".
My birth year and favourite Mario character. First chose it as my SMM2 nickname and kinda use it for most things now.
Your first anything is important; a memory you don't want to forget. That's what makes nostalgia such a fascinating concept. That's why many people enjoy games that have aged well.
My favorite character from my favorite Neo Geo game series, Magical Drop.
Switch Physical Collection - 1,252 games (as of April 30th, 2024)

Itās a longer version of my switch username, ChaosMags. My playstyle for most games, especially competitive ones, is to just cause chaos and confusion, and my favorite Kirby character is Magolor.
It used to be ChaosKirb, or ChaoticKirby for a while, but I decided to change it recently.
Proud member of the Church of Magolor, Dr. Pepper enthusiast, Serial Designation N enjoyer, licensed memer, etc.
Originally a nickname inspired by one of my favorite characters, Sunset Shimmer from My Little Pony: Equestria Girls. I remember calling her "Sunsy," so I stuck with it as it sounded cute.
The resident Trolls superfan! Saw Trolls Band Together via early access and absolutely loved it!
A character from the Anime Fushigi Yuugi. When my friends and Insaw it years ago they said my temper was like Tasuki's and started calling me that for laughs. When I started needing usernames and such when I first stated going online, I just used it since it was a user name I could remember.
RetiredPush Square Moderator and all around retro gamer.
Mine comes from the classic Space Knight Tekkaman anime from the 70s: hero JÅji Minami calls out āTeksetter!ā to summon his space knight armor.
Tekkaman wields a double-ended lance, which long ago was my favorite hunter weapon in Phantasy Star Online. I guess PSO and classic SF anime were on my mind when picking a handle here.
What can I say, Iām a geek! š

gcunit was born sometime between 2006-2008. I was trawling console modding forums like maxconsole and gbatemp, first to softmod my GameCube, and then in 2008, my Wii.
I was not particularly 'down' with the hacking/modding scene so wanted a username that could be interpreted as being a hardcore gamer for a touch of insta-credibility to get existing users to engage with me, and seeing how I was dwelling in Nintendo-specific threads and GameCube was my first console, the letters G and C seemed an obvious 'wearing my heart on my sleeve' type prefix.
I then wanted a bit of post-modern irony to it, so wanted a word that was hopefully obviously edgy but in a deliberately generic way, hence the 'unit' part.
I then wanted to go a bit post-ironic and subvert the blunt and generic edginess of 'GCUnit' by writing it all in lowercase.
Hence 'gcunit' was born and whenever a name creator allows me to use all lowercase, that's what I do.
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?
@gcunit maybe I dreamed it, but I remember seeing someone complaining that your username looked like a bad word at least once.
I remember looking twice when I first saw their name, thinking surely that's not what I think it is. Ohhhh, there's an i there.
'I used to be with 'it', then they changed what 'it' was. Now what I'm with isn't 'it', and what's 'it' is weird and scary to me. It'll happen to you too.' - Abe Simpson
