Do you guys remember Giant Robot and some sort of surveillance camera game that splits the tv into 16 views? If anybody has any info on those 2 Miyamoto games, Im curious.

They are keeping Starfox and Zelda company into 2016. Mario Maker and Yoshi's Wooly World were both due 1st half of 2015 but got released in the 2nd half (the graphic is from an NOA tweet in Aug or Sept 2014) so it's still possible those games could be 1st half of 2016. At least XCX came out in 2015 to save my holiday. Really don't know what I would have gotten under the tree otherwise. Probably a PS4, and then I'd be waiting until April for Ratchet and Clank and Nathan Drake. So glad or XCX tomorrow.

No idea. They'll probably be e-shop games.

Probably being added into Star Fox Zero to make that game bulkier.

Bit weird. They both seemed like relatively small games so you'd think they'd be done by now.

They were both essentially just tech demos. I honestly doubt they'll show up as full games. If anything they look like eShop releases at best. And they haven't even been mentioned since then so I also wouldn't be surprised if they never took them any further.

@Operative: After E3 this year, Nintendo confirmed that Platinum Games is also working on Project Guard. The games show up in their release schedule every time. If they had never the intention to release them, they wouldn't put those games on their release schedule. NOA even used those games in a schedule they released on Twitter last year (see post 3).

@Octane: That really doesn't change my opinion on it. What they showed us was nothing more than conceptual gameplay ideas, nothing indicative of a full game. Either they're getting retooled into another game (I believe Guard was confirmed to be going to Starfox?) or they'll be tiny eShop games or they don't' exist. I really don't pay much attention to those release charts, because Nintendo seems like they're just putting em' in there to make their schedule look more padded out. Especially since one of their earlier release posts included Affordable Space Adventures. The fact that we have heard literally nothing about Robot since 2014 is another red flag.

wasn't Project Guard suppose to come out this year?

@Operative: Project Guard is still its own thing, not a part of Star Fox Zero. Giant Robot, although we haven't seen the game in quite a while, it was put back on the release schedule last July. If Nintendo had no intention of releasing this game, they wouldn't have done that.

TuVictus

@Octane: we'll see. As it stands, what was shown didn't look very promising as standalone games. If they do show up again, I'm hoping they have more substance.

Didn't they say they were going to be used in their main games?

@Octane: But Devilish Brain Training for Europe was on there too, surely nothing's coming of that as the wait has been nearly 3 years?

Man, I'd love to see Project Giant Robot as a fleshed-out eShop game. Just give us tons of robot parts (maybe position it as a free or cheap game with DLC parts packs), a good level selection, and — this is the most important part — fully destructible environments and you'd have an absolutely perfect drinking-beer-with-friends game.

VelvetElvis

Octane

@Operative: Well, of course. Those games were in an early alpha stage after all.

@Grumblevolcano: I'm not saying it's guaranteed we'll see those games again. But if Nintendo had absolutely no intention of releasing those two games, they wouldn't have announced them as separate games, they wouldn't announce Platinum Games' involvement with Guard and they most certainly wouldn't put Giant Robot back on the release schedule. They might be cancelled, but as of now, we have no reason to assume they are.

Didn't they say they were related to Starfox Zero? I wouldn't be surprised if they were integrated into the game
