Topic: What do you want Nintendo to do with the Bowser/Koopaling relationship?

So Miyamoto has gone on record to say that Bowser Jr. is the only biological child of Bowser but any of you who have played Smash Bros and completed Palutena's guidance may have noticed that Nintendo is being very ambiguous with what their association with Bowser is. Pit claims that "it's a real mystery" so it seems like Nintendo has taken notice to the backlash from fans who have for years believed that they are his children and are intentionally being vague about it.

I'm willing to bet Nintendo may clear up the true relationship between him and the kids in a future game.

Do you want them to claim that:

A. They are merely his minions and have no relation to Bowser?
(this begs the question as to why he would employ children to fight for him)

B. Do you want them to officially claim that the Koopa Kids are adopted children?

C. do you not agree with either of these claims and have your own personal idea?

It seems like many fans who grew up with the Mario series have rejected Nintendo's official statement and still consider them his children, and their behavior towards him in Super Mario U and other games hint at that because they are constantly around him and although the relationship between Jr. and Bowser is much more developed at this point, it still leaves a lot of fans questioning this because so many past sources clearly indicate a father/child relationship.

I would have made this a poll but I'm interested in hearing your responses. We are probably due to see more of these kids in future games with their surprising additions to Mario Kart 8 and Smash Bros. What is your overall opinion on the comeback of the Koopa Kids?

I don't think there's anything else to do with it.

For Nintendo, they're just high rank members of the koopa troop and nothing more.

But that begs the question as to why they hinted at there relationship being "a real mystery" in Palutena's Guidance. It seems like they are teasing as to what the relationship is. It also would leave one to wonder why Bowser is employing children as generals in his army if they have no relation to him.

I don't think they're going to just leave it at that because the return of Daisy lead to her being Luigi's girlfriend and even Birdo was apparently associated with Yoshi as a love interest of sorts. She is known as Catherine in Japan and the Japanese manual for MK: Double Dash stated that they are boyfriend and girlfriend. They seem to give these characters a reason to be together, even if it isn't a very deep reason.

As long as people don't question how he kidnapped peach, who dated a plumber and his brother, and still conceived bowser jr while peach doesn't even know it's his child, no amount of nintendo scripting can explain a proper relationship here.

I always thought they were his kids in Mario 3 and looked at them as such ever since. Maybe he adopted them from other Koopas to teach them how to be evil. Something alot of bad guys seem to do.
Would be great if it turned out the koopalings were his nephews and nieces and we got a string of Bowser type brothers and sisters

I just want them to be his kids again like in Super Mario Bros 3. Why even try and change that?

Seeing as how I hate Bowser Jr, I'd rather the Koopalings remain as Bowser's kids like before. I hate how they were shoved into the backburner, but I'm happy now they they're getting some recognition. They're actually appearing in some games (as opposed to none before) and I saw Koopaling plushies at EB.

I try not to think about the inner workings of the Mushroom Kingdom and rather just enjoy playing the games. Over analyzing it will just ruin it for me. It's just like trying to piece together Zelda lore. Just stop.

I never really thought about it. I think it's okay the way it is.

The better question is where is their mom? What did you do with her, Bowser?!?!

I think she should be the one actually in charge. From the shadows she manipulates Bowser and the Koopalings without Mario finding out about her. She is the real villain

Plot twist, Peach is the mother, she's the true villain. lol

Personally I want Nintendo to
1. Changes Iggy hairstyle back to normal, or make him take after Kamek with an Robe, or something. A robe with an mask holding fire like in "Demon Blazon".

2. The popularity with "Cookie Koopa" is from the Mario 3 series. Where it is hold that He built the Doomship, and He built the Flying-Top. It is also cited that he built the Mecha-Koopas. Ludwig Von ( the historical name ) should have an personally Shy-guy Orchrestra in the background of his castle, and fully operational mecha factory, along with Doomship workhouse.

3. I ALREADY KNOW THAT THE "KOOPA KIDS" ARE BOWSERS COUSINS. This was stated in various manuals along with the "Super Mario Brothers Movie" and such. Yes in the Japanese games they are the cousins of Bowsers.

However their is truth in them being the children of Koopa. By that I mean King Koopa from the television series. where they all have their "nicknames" from. So basically King Koopa ( Tv series ) sent his kids to live with King Koopa ( in the videogames ). Speaking of which the upside down Koopa bit ( from Mario 64 ) is from the Comics/TV-series as well. The same reason why Miff the fairy is replaced with Navi the fairy. Nintendo stole the idea from the Zelda animation and why people accept the Navi-fairy bit.

4. About Baby Bowser being his son or himself from the past. Honestly I do not really care. I do not care if they make him grow up. I do not care if they make the Koopa kids get more mature looking. I do not care if Wend O' Koopa ( Kootie Pie ) was to gain boobies or become an xxx symbol. I do not care.

I will admit in New-Super Mario Bros. the Baby Bowser inside the flying top was funny and hilarious over Kamek bit from SMW2:Yoshi's Island.

5. Bring back King Koopa from the Cartoon animation series. This is why Super Mario RPG was an great looking and feeling game because it felt like
the animation series over the game. Just bring back King Koopa and make an really challenging boss out of him in Smash brothers. Make him go GodZilla style on Mario or something. Bring back the Koopa Pack, and their weird silly voices.

6. For the duration we just see bowser and peach on an island sipping drinks watching the whole thing on tv. Watching King Koopa chase after Mario, Toad, Toadstool, and Luigi along with his kids.

7. Make an Marton Senior Koopa. It would make a lot more sense to have another King Koopa or another Bowser as well. Since being his cousins.

8. Show bowser for what he is. An transformed Kappa monster. In Final Fantasy V ( the movie) they basically had an bunch of weak Kappa creatures as the facilitators of being the main enemy. So in FFV:The main enemy was the Kappa creatures.

Ever tried pointing one of those wands at Koopa what would he turn into???

I always thought of them as Bowser's nephews and niece since Super Mario Bros 3 and the cartoons since they're kids that came out of no where and sometimes disappear (not a perfect logic), just like Donald Duck's nephews.

What I found strange in the cartoon is how in SMWorld Cootie-pie ( pun-takin ) was in the ice-world, and not the desert world, which she is located in SMWorld. It is like they forgot about SMB3 or missed or had an extra story they tied into SMWorld.

A lot of people assume Peach is the mother but it would make no sense, as that would mean these children are half human.

Well... If Birdos and Yoshis can be males and lay eggs... Maybe Koopas can too.
