@Kid_A There is a keen difference in each of the series that make them all good. If you find Star Trek unwatchable thats great as its your choice but I found the new movie unwatchable and I had to force myself to watch it. I was not complaining as I was trying to be humorous about it. The movie sucked. Each show was a continuation of the past show but with different events, people and yes some change. But they were changes that fit into was already existed. Quit being defensive and quit trollin over something your not even a fan of or something so trivial. We all have opinions.

I'm certainly not a fan of the show, but Star Trek (the movie that just came out) was one of the greatest sci-fi action movies I've ever seen!

And all I wanted was a good Star Trek movie, but I didn't get it. I'm glad the non-Trekkies enjoyed it though, but it wasn't a Trek movie, so they are bound to.

When you're able to keep in mind that the Star Trek XI universe is not our ST universe, it's a damn good movie IMO. It was all fanservice to me (except for Uhura and Spock; wtf were they thinking having her in a relationship with him DDD: ). can't wait to get it on DVD... :3

I know it was not our universe but to me it was garbage. Most of the actors did a lousy representation of the original cast. Anyways we all have opinions.

I AM a fan of Star Trek--the movie, that is. I'm a huge fan of it. I saw it four times in the theaters (which means I had to cough up a lot of dough). It just bothers me that you let your fanboysim get in the way of you bothering a great movie. And you're telling me to quit being defensive? Really? I'm trying to defend the movie, because I thought it was outstanding--perhaps even better than some of the original Star Wars movies in some way.

I guess what I'm mad about is all you guys hating on "non-trekies" just because I like the movie and not the show. It's like those Batman fanboys who hate how much love The Dark Knight got from non-batman fans. It just doesn't make any sense to me.

Sorry, I didn't come in here trying to start an argument. It just bothers me that you guys hate the movie just because it did something different with the series (I know, I know, It destroyed all the history behind the series and ruined everything the series has been building for 25 years. Well whatever. I thought it was great)

Yes how dare they be original and try to bring something new to the characters that have been around for 25 years.

you know I'm just messing with you right?

Anyways my favorite episode was Tapestry in TNG and any episode with Q on DS9 and Voyager.. TOS The Trouble with Tribbles. And Enterprise I do not really have a favorite episode.

Why in the name of the prophets was there only 1 Q DS9 episode?

@Starkiller: Q went back to TNG after that... in fact, his next episode appearance was the aforementioned 'Tapestry' after DS9's 'Q-Less'. w00t for Picard-torture.

Has anyone else read Q&A? It's kinda short, and it deals with some heavy after-Nemesis stuff, but it kinda explains why Q hung around Picard so much. It was pretty good IMO. :3

and speaking of Picard-torture, I feel terrible about it, but I can't help but laugh when it comes to 'Chain of Command'... taken out of context, Picard yelling "There! Are! Four! Lights!" is pretty hilarious. It's almost on-par with "We look for things... things we need... things to make us go"... lol, 'Samaritan Snare'. Those aliens were freaking dumb. :3

John de Lancie did an excellent job as Q. That man can really act in nearly every role I have seen him in. I even enjoyed his role in Stargate SG 1

Y'know I've seen De lancie live? Best day of my life.
Well, that's a bit of an exaggeration.

I totally agree! Whilst I was sat therein the cinema, I was like "woah, this rocks". It was a kick-ass scifi flick. But, the next day, little details nagged at me. Like....

SPOILER
since when did a starship get built on earth, i know they never really went there before tng, but still. And... (my main gripe) what is with Kirk getting dropped randomly, on the same planet that Spock got dumped on, then them bumping into each other, via some star wars esque monster type things. That's too much, i cannae do it captain! And Vulcan?! I know it's a different timeline, but... no need!

All minor I admit, except the meeting with Spock. I'll be back, with more, it's late, and thinking about alternate timelines is making me go woah!

Wow, quite a few excellent TNG episodes mentioned here since I last visited.

Cause and Effect -- I'm actually quite fond of that one, good choice. It also has that whole dimension to it regarding alternate choices you could have made, because he was essentially encountering himself in different lives that were based on very different decisions (to be with Troi, etc). I found Troi's anguish over the fact that the husband standing before her never knew her as a wife, nor knew her children, more than a little moving. Even the most important people in your life might not have even encountered you had they taken another turn one day, etc, and it's strange to picture confronting their alternate life in which you played either no role or a minor role.

Lower Decks -- haven't caught that one in quite a while, but glad to be reminded of it. I wish the DVDs weren't so exorbitant.

The First Duty -- a solid morality episode, which for me finally redeemed Wesley as a character, something I wouldn't have thought possible earlier in the series.

Chain of Command -- another episode I'd place near the top of the list. The scenes between Picard and his torturer display some of the best acting of the series. For those who don't know, the Cardassian was played by David Warner, who is also an alumnus of the same Royal Shakespeare Company in which Patrick Stewart matured as an actor (and Ian McKellan, and several other prominent folks). The manner in which the issue of torture is handled here is, for me, much more appropriate and thoughtful than I've seen elsewhere on film TV.

Twitter is a good place to throw your nonsense.

"There! Are! Four! Lights!"

Like tbd, I snigger a little inside at that scene, but that just points to Patrick's ability to perform, and make you take pity on someone who usually instills such belief and admiration. It's at the end of the episode, where Picard admits that for a moment he truly doubted himself, that that the scene gains extra oomph. If he had been left in that situation any longer, he would have broken.

'Lower Decks' was a fantastic and all too rare look at the underbelly of the Enterprise, really enjoyed that one, especially the light in which it played Riker, who all of a sudden seemed like the villain, an obstacle. The episode had nice linkage to 'The First Duty' with Sito and the way Picard treats her, having been witness to the trial. Loved the maneuvre the Rookies pulled in that one, and only wish we'd had chance to see it real time. Kolvoord Starburst = Ignited Plasma goodness.

The best bit about 'Cause and Effect for me, was the card game. And that sense of deja-vu experienced by all. Wonderful scenes.

Why's everyone choosing TNG episodes?
Speaking of alternate timelines, I just saw In a Mirror, darkly part 1 (Enterprise) today. Pure awesomeness, don't spoil the rest though. (Gotta go see the Tholian Web now.)
I also like that episode of Voyager, Timeless (the 100th episode). This time-travel stuff never ceases to entertain me.

Dude, I've only just started, I'm just getting warmed up. I'm gonna be in this thread for months. Thanks for giving Nintendo Life warp capabilities.

'In a Mirror, Darkly' was one of the stand-out episodes of Enterprise, enjoy. Still, not as good as 'Mirror, Mirror" or the DS9 ones, but great nonetheless. I love the Mirror universe and it's stark differences, so much fun.

The best episodes of Star Trek involve time travel or parallel universes. Don't ask why, they just do.

I was so surprised when I found there was no Star Trek community on this site, it would've been a crime not to make one!

That is one awesome ship, Machu. But what ship did you get that extra nacelle from? Was it Nebula class? I should know this one...
