Batman and Robin. God that movie is so terrible and I can never bring myself to finish. I have tried on several occasions and one time I actually fell asleep during it.
Arachnophobia. I am afraid of spiders so I doubt I will ever finish this movie. The last thing I saw before walking into another room was some guy was photographing a big ole tarantula and while he was the pider jumped up and wrapped itself around the camera lens. After that I was like "I'm done" and have never watched a moment of it since lol.
Nausicaa. Everyone tells me it's a Ghibli classic but I just couldn't get into it at all. I don't know why, I love the other Ghibli films.
I could never get into Nausicaa either, yet I watched it straight to the end. Then again, I watched it when I was in a bad mood, but I still don't think it was that good all in all. It had an interesting messege to its ending (the monsters turned out to have more compassion than the men), but I've seen that done better before, though I'm struggling to remember where.
I suffer from arachnaphobia, but I didn't mind watching the Arachnaphobia film... weird...
Another film I can think of is Ghostbusters... I'm sorry, but oh god was that boring as hell. Good acting, good story and all that good stuff, but it never appealed to me with the whole "trapping ghosts" crap.
Every time I watch it with people they HAVE to quote everything before it happens, so I just lost interest
On second though, 'tis a silly place.
Sean Aaron ~ "The secret is out: I'm really an American cat-girl." Q: How many physicists does it take to change a light bulb? A: Two, one to hold the light bulb, the other to rotate the universe.
Took me a whole day but I finished Amadeus. What do you guys think of it?
I loved Amadeus. That movie has a slow pace but it's really intense and the revelations throughout are stunning. Definitely deserving of its Academy Awards. If you're not into period fiction then I can see it being a drag though.
This thread will turn the stomach of a real film fan. People are entitled to their oppinion, of course, but I'm surprised to see most of the films listed in here are vastly regarded as true classics. Alien, The Godfather and The Social Network are all films you should at least try to get through to the end. Even Alien 3, as mentioned in the first post, is a film that holds a lot of respect these days since the troubled development and the assembley cut came to light.
I have NEVER walked out of a film and I never will. I have seen some stinkers but I've always seen them through to the end. I'd like to see more people mentioning the likes of Batman and Robin or Scary Movie as true abominations - they're more forgiveable to walk out on, but if you've started on them you should finish them. You never know where the story is going to go until it has ended.
@madgear If you choose to stick with a bad film to then end that's your choice. While I've personally never walked out of a movie, it's up to the individual whether they want to finish a film or not. I do agree I'm surprised at a few of these but then not every film appeals to everyone. It would be a pretty boring world if they did.
I didn't mind Batman and Robin that much. I watched it as a child and I remember enjoying the striking visuals and the cheesiness in that film. Kids don't care about the quality of the acting or the plot! It was like the comics or the animated series brought to life! In retrospect I believe I was exactly the target audience for it.
I've never walked out on a film either, but when I'm at home and have control of the remote, I'm not afraid to change the channel or fast-forward when a movie gets dull.

That's even worse - it means you're enjoying the film but not all of it so you skip out on the "dull" parts? They're part of the film - they were put in for a reason. It's like choosing to only look at the penis of Michelangelo's David because you don't find the rest of the statue as appealing.
Does anyone besides Mickeymac and I have any movies that they couldn't finish watching because they were too terrifying, depressing, disgusting, etc? (Basically any other reason besides boring)

lol why subject yourself to something awful when there is no reason? If something tastes like **** im not going to keep eating. (unless its a culture thing, then thats different)

Yeah, I'm surprised people have only listed "it sucked" or "It was boring" when there are so many other reasons to not finish a movie. I know I've stopped watching a movie because it was too disgusting, too depressing (although that one's very rare), and especially because they're terrifying. Hell, I've stopped watching a movie because it was too funny or too embarassing. A Movie doesn't have to be boring to make things difficult for certain audience members. I'm just surprised no one else here has experienced anything like that.

Because they said they fast forward the dull parts - that's not finding something awful. That's just having a low attention span.
