I think that's the sign of a truly bad movie - one that is so irritating you can't finish watching it.
It's only happened to me a couple of times in my life, and only once in the cinema. In the cinema, I walked out early from Waterworld. I don't know why I even went to watch that.
On video/ DVD, the most noteable film I turned off before finishing watching it was Alien 3. I love the series (including Resurrection), but 3 suffered from some serious pacing flaws that put me to sleep.
Last night Date Movie was on TV. I was really tired and just wanted to zone out - I wasn't expecting anything great, but I thought perhaps I can have this as background noise while I read a magazine or something. I watched 10 minutes then turned the TV off and went to bed. Worst 10 minutes of film I've ever seen.
The Godfather - I got halfway through and nothing was happening so I decided to watch Scarface for the first time ever and I don't regret it.
Alien - I got halfway through a gazillion times, but to this day I've never seen the ending.
Seven Pounds - I tried and I tried but I got 2/3rds through and it couldn't hold my attention enough to see the end.
And yes, Date Movie is terrible, though I it got a chuckle outta me for the Toca Buns joke or whatever it was.
I liked Water World, though. Like, A lot. More than was healthy, even. It was a very, very, very cool concept and I spent years as a kid trying to come up with my own sequel kind of to it.
Godfather bored me to death. I don't understand why so many people act like they are the greatest movies in cinema. Another one that put me to sleep was the sixth sense. I don't know about seeing dead people but I saw sleeping people. Especially me.

Eh, the first movie that has made me go all "just turn it off pleaseee!" was Elf. I also dislike most movies about life or real histories (like wars or dysfunctional families) by default.
I was a kid when i saw waterworld and i haven't been able to see it again, do i don't remember it being bad.
I can never enjoy most movies about realistic things. I watch movies to escape from reality.

The Godfather was another movie I haven't been able to watch through. I've finished it - by watching it in small bits and pieces, but man it's a slog to try and get through in one go.
All Quiet on the Western Front. I d'know, I think the acting bothered me, and it was too long. I eventually got tired of watching it and ate food, lol.
meh, it's been almost a year. depending on the thread (and the OP) in question, a year is about where i draw the line with regards to turning a blind eye to a dupe thread. can't wait for the eventual NL forum upgrade, hopefully complete with merge function.
that said, it took me nearly a decade to finally sit through The Rocky Horror Picture Show without falling asleep halfway into it (usually i'd conk out after the 'touch me' song). it's not that it's a bad movie -- it's certainly a cult classic for a reason -- but my mistake was always trying to watch it alone. it took a movie marathon at a friend's house with eight or nine other people yelling stuff at the screen to keep me awake through it, haha. it's a helluva good time with friends around :3
as for seriously bad movies, though... The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy was horrible. I swear to god i fell asleep in the theater and completely missed the second half of the movie. wound up reading the book afterward, and it was much more interesting.

Haha, I know this feeling! It's amazing how much better that movie gets when you have a bunch of friends around and can get up and dance and such.
Also, Grease is a hard movie for me to sit through and watch... sober. Throw in alcohol and it's all kinds of awesome.
Grease I can sit through no problem -- i like that movie, lol. Grease 2 on the other hand... D: D: D:

I couldn't finish Hotel Rwanda, for far different reasons that those given so far in this thread. I got to the part where the nun(?) was talking about the church(?) full of children that had just been slaughtered with machetes and that was enough for me. The movie Blood Diamond had a similiar effect on me and I couldn't finish it either.
Black Hawk Down took me several time to watch. I'm not sure how much of this movie was historically accurate but it was based on a real life situation. It's the only time I've ever actually been FURIOUS with the on-screen antics/stupidity of some of the characters, or more importantly the people they were portraying. I was like: "QUIT SITTING AROUND WITH YOUR THUMBS UP YOUR ARSES, AND GET IN THERE AND HELP THOSE SOLDIERS!".
edit: "Requiem For A Dream" anybody? Strangely, I didn't find this movie AS depressing as my aforementioned few, but still...
I saw about 10 minutes of Twilight, then walked away. I decided to give it a chance when my mom and niece were watching it last summer. I actually watched the entire thing. I kept thinking it must get better. I believe it was the worst movie I saw last year.
Sean Aaron ~ "The secret is out: I'm really an American cat-girl." Q: How many physicists does it take to change a light bulb? A: Two, one to hold the light bulb, the other to rotate the universe.
You know, I can't remember a lot of bad movies that I never finished. I dunno why. Even the ones I listed were shows I liked, I just have difficulty focusing.
I tried watching Twilight.... I could not stomach it at all... it's more of a movie for the girls who dream about a boyfriend who has big muscles and turns into a werewolf/vampire...
Those films can be buried in hell for all I care.
Another film is probably "I Am Legend", watched it like 5 times, on the fifth time I got to the end. But the 1-4 times... nothing exciting EVER happened, until near the end and then its over. That is probably the most boringest action/horror I have ever seen.
