Topic: Japanese royal family members play video games?

I always wonder whether any of the royal family members in Japan play Nintendo or Playstation. I mean I read Queen Elizabeth has a Wii console and Princess Diana bought video games for William and Harry. But I never read anything about the Japanese royalty playing Nintendo or Sony games. I cannot picture Emperor Akihito playing with his 3DS or Prince Naruhito trading Pokemon with Princess Aiko. What do you think? Do you think there's a Nintendo console or handheld in the imperial palace? If so, do you think the royal family has to pay for the video games like everyone else? I mean the emperor is considered a deity in Japan and I can't imagine Nintendo or Sony asking him to fork over his Yens for their products.

The Japanese Emperor has not been seen as a deity since Kokka Shinto was de-established as the religion of State during the WWII occupation. Still I can see the royal family owning games but not making it a primary hobby...much like many celebrities. I know if I had money and privilege I would likely not be a gamer as I would spend my time traveling and visiting museums.

The queen has a Wii? I need evidence!

It's dangerous to go alone! Stay at home.

I'm sure whatever children are in the royal family often have video games bought for them. Maybe they get em' for free, or maybe not. Either way, not like they'd have a hard time getting them.

What if there was a videogame about that?

I would certainly not choose going to some museum over gaming. But that's just me, I'm an uncultured swine

Royalty or not, they're only human and humans like video games...apparently.

Gaming Since The 70's!

@TeeJay: @SuperWiiU: LOL I love that both of you guys zeroed in on that. What can I say? I love video games (I do) but life is meant to be lived. Also, you never sat in a museum until inspiration struck you? Does the Louvre tour count as a game?...geez I really need to go back there.
