Edit: Never mind, it's back. Here's my latest - although the backlog is huge, I've been writing a series of tutorial pieces lately that are going to roll out slowly.

My writing style here is a little different because the site is aimed at younger Minecraft players!!

@KateGray I think I remember some of your articles from a few years back, how long have you been writing?

Those images are from actual builds?!?!?

This is unbelievable ... I have seen some amazing builds like from Game of Thrones or Lords of the Rings but those underwater ones look unreal!

@Snatcher ohhh, YEARS at this point! It's my favourite side-gig, it's so much fun to get to see weird builds. Makes me feel quite inadequate, of course, but hey-ho. There should be more coming next year... 👀

@Zuljaras YEP. And they casually say "oh I've been working on this for five years" — I play Minecraft non-stop for month-long bursts, and I've never built anything that impressive.

I'm still waiting for the @jump is amazing article.😠😠😠 I'm tired of haterz pretending this isn't true.

Since you play LOTS of Minecraft I would like to ask you a question if that is ok ofc.

Is there a way to have deep + flat world on the Switch? The normal flat world on the Switch is 3 blocks deep if I am not mistaken.

The normal (generated) world is infinite deep or at least close to it and there is lots of space above to build anything but you have to clean up and make it flat yourself

Also what version you are playing Switch, PC or? I am strictly asking for the Switch, if you are playing that

@Zuljaras That is a gooood question. I... don't know the answer. The Switch version is quite a lot more limited than the PC version, so I'm thinking... maybe there isn't a way??

I don't play on Switch as much as I should, because I'm very used to PC controls (and shaders!) at this point. Also I mostly play on servers I do have it on Switch but I largely use it for screenshots and testing when I'm writing about Switch stuff!!

The way to do it is going back in time and buying the legacy For Nintendo Switch edition.

That one had/has a customizable flat world option.

@KateGray Come now, Kate, we've known each other too long. I've been concerned about you for some time now... I've even felt a little guilty of late.

While I was out there renewing my powers of paddling and observing the stars amidst the pine-scented clearings, you were down "here", holding the fort and documenting this explosive growth of quirky/indie games. I had actually meant to reply to that piece where you cross animals with Zion, but, uh, that is one long video. Suffice it to say that I've kept tabs on you, Herr Vogel and others, and what I've seen makes me think that you staff writers need a pick-me-up after this long pandemic funk. When I see headlines on your stories like this one, I can just feel your homesickness, albeit maybe not the best kind. Emotional highs and lows in quick succession are a tell-tale sign that we, your fans, should be attentive and understanding at this time. And... the less said about incidents like this, the better.

I am simply saying that we should acknowledge your contributions without encouraging any further emotional jags. Even keel, you know?
