I've never spent more than a few hours everyday not playing videogames since the day i picked up a controller. I never let a day go by without gaming in some form. Unless my power goes out or something else prevents me from getting to my devices like being away from home or not having access to my stuff.
Gaming to me is as much a daily routine as eating breakfast in the morning. I might have skipped a day or two if i was sick but that's it
Hrmm I'd say the longest for me was a good few months... but that was before Switch launched. Switch is much easier to fit gaming into everyday life, so it's likely only a few days here or there without playing anything now.
Usually I take a break by 1 day whenever I felt bored or not in the mood for playing video games.
I watched YouTube videos or listening music from YouTube / my handphone.

Sorry for not being active much recently, but I’m very much alive!
@Snatcher From what I could tell the original poster's username of the original thread was very problematic while at the same time having Anti-Matter (the Nintendo Life user) as their profile image.
Hard to say. There were a definitely a few years when my kids were small when I never picked up a controller. But even then I was still playing stuff on mobile - which is a lot better than people give it credit for. Stuff like FF Tactics, TWEWY, Ghost Trick, Ace Attorney, Dragon Quest VIII. All belters. But I pretty much got a PS3, played about four games on it and then didn’t play another console game till I got the Switch at launch. Three or four years?
According to my 3DS, I had a 14 day break back when I started military service and the total playtime for that starting month was about 8 hours. That was almost a decade ago.
It's its, not it's.

Could have sworn I posted here yesterday, but my post seems to have been deleted. Hope I wasn't breaking any rules. Anyway
A couple of years in fact. About mid way through the PS2 generation I just stopped. Mainly due to becoming a parent and the responsibilities that comes with it. I didn't start playing games again till mid way through the PS3/Xbox 360 generation.

It's hard for me to remember any long stretches of time in regards to my 3DS/Wii days but in regards to my Switch era, the longest time I took without even touching the system was about 3-4 months back in Autumn of 2019 due to being afflicted with the terrible disease known as JOY-CON DRIFT!
A nasty taste in my mouth that's for sure, but I managed to get a brand new Pink & Green pair in time for Pokemon SwSh's release (oh no it's been 3 years since SwSh came out, WHERE HAS THE TIME GONE) so all was well in the end.

I might get lost in an actual book once every blue moon.
But...after a few days...I need a fix, like a fiend.
Switch Physical Collection - 1,251 games (as of April 24th, 2024)

Legitimately never even a full week since I got an N64 for Christmas in 1998. My parents getting rid of our NES earlier that same year was the biggest gap but I'm sure I played a game here or there at friends' houses so I can't possibly remember the exact timeframe for that.
In my first year of university many, many years ago I didn’t take a console with me (the tv license was expensive and reception was terrible in my dorm room so I didn’t think it was worth it). I look back now on quite a rough 9 months or so and definitely wish I had taken a console to just lose myself in when times were tough. I did have a Game Boy Colour (told you it was a long time ago!) and 3 games on my laptop (Worms 2, Civilisation 2 and Dino Crisis) but that was it. Never been without a console ever since. Even when I moved abroad for 3 years my PS2 went with me. Gaming isn’t a cure all but I find it very good for my mental health.
‘You swapped three different N64 games for Pokemon Stadium? Where’s your pride? Your dignity?!?
I stoped playing for around 8 years, around time of wii, 360, ps3 i only got back into gaming sround 4 years ago, I bought a 3DS XL as I thought the 3D feature was brilliant and there had been alot of decent releases on it, then I bought a switch as I wanted to play METROID 4, and switch is really cheap. @TowaHerschel7 your site is brilliant.
