and I don't mean a live action movie like the atrocity that was created years ago. I mean a pixar, CGI type movie similar to Frozen. Get Nintendo creators involved into developing it too so the storyline and characters won't be misrepresented.
I honestly don't see why a Mario Bros movie couldn't be as big as Frozen or any other Disney blockbuster if was done the right way. At the very least I think there should be a modern day cartoon.
I think a CG Mario could be done well if the right people were working on it. As in someone who loves Mario, and cares about the quality of the film, not someone looking for a paycheck

No, not really. There's no point to a Mario Bros. movie, since the Mario franchise is a bad base for movie material. And last time someone tried to make a movie, it was mostly hated for being incredibly dumb (even though I still like it, I can see why).
^I wouldn't say Mario is bad for source material to make a movie with but more there's not much too him or his world, especially the platform games but Mario & Luigi is slightly better.
I'm hoping they use the story from Donkey Kong, in which after years of abuse from Donkey Kong's owner and master Mario DK kidnaps Mario's girlfriend in revenge so Mario sets off to rescue her.

That is because many of the Mario games have very little depth or attempt to create a story or develop the characters. Mario RPG did a pretty good job of doing that though, and the comic book from Nintendo Power was amazing.
I think the only way it would work is if they made a 3D animated film, but then I'd probably spend my entire time in the theatre thinking… "I'd rather be playing this".
"Gee, that's really persuasive. Do you have any actual points to make other than to essentially say 'me Tarzan, physical bad, digital good'?"
I think that if it was going to work it would have to be more of a stylised anime rather than CGI. You know, with bright block, warm colours or watercolours idk. Like in super Mario 3D world on Wii U, the jazzy, bright, neon/City type lighting was very atmospheric. If they could incorporate intricate backgrounds with simple foreground.
The storyline would have to be reasonably simple and would have to have minimal speech, like in 'Wall-e'. Though they could show bowser/kooplings / donkey Kong as an anti hero type character (even though not the protagonist).
I probably took this way too seriously... Nevermind.
To be honest, I don't really see a Mario adaptation working too well, especially not in movie form. The games don't have enough of a story to really support a non interactive film experience, and the setting itself comes across as perhaps a bit random and nonsensical for any serious effort at one.
And given the track record for past adaptations... I don't trust it on that front either.
