What happened to Brothers in Arms and Medal of Honor? They used to be popular years ago, then Battlefield came out of nowhere and became Call of Duty's main rival. Heck, Medal of Honor started the whole military shooter genre, and in just a few years it became outclassed by Call of Duty.
I know EA tried to resurrect Medal of Honor with that HD game, but I guess it didn't do too well. So is the Medal of Honor series on hiatus while EA concentrates on Battlefield? And where does that leave Brothers in Arms?
I mentioned that HD Medal of Honor game in my post. But since Call of Duty and Battlefield are currently the most popular military shooters ever, I wonder if Medal of Honor will ever become successful again. And Brothers in Arms was never that popular to begin with, it was always considered a Medal of Honor clone.
oh i do miss when these types of shooters weren't overdone to the point of making me not care about almost any of them outside of wanting the stupid fanboys and stupid extreme haters going away. I liked Battlefield 1942 and Call of Duty 1. But they're just annoying now, it's probably what it was like in the 64 bit era if you got bored with collectathon platformers.
Medal of Honor failed because after a while it was too far behind other WW2 shooters and rarely did enough new anymore. I'm waiting for history to repeat itself.
you should be playing Bulletstorm instead. That's the true answer.
Bulletstorm was a terrible game. I played the first mission and immediately gave the game to a friend. The voice-acting was cheesy and immature, the controls were wonky, and the whole thing just reeked of middle-school humor. Thanks but no thanks Epic Games.
Call of Duty got something right, and is now just churning out the same stuff in a different wrapper. Battlefield 3 has the same basic elements, with some new twists, and is a better game on the PC
But all of the best shooters are made by Valve, so I suggest you all get Team Fortress 2 because it's now free to play forever.
Valve din't make Halo 2 or 1. (and to some extent reach)
Nor did they make Bioshock or Killzone 3.
Anyways, I can't say I miss Medal of Honor, but Brother's in Arms used to be something special, and it's good to hear they're making another one of them under a competant developer.
Where's all the hype for Contra and Metal Slug? that's the real question here.

Contra's prohibitively difficult and Metal Slug is pretty much the same game over and over again. All the hype went away a long time ago when gamers got tired of those kinda games.

The first mission isn't representative of the rest of the game. I mean, yeah, the humor is the same but Bulletstorm has a really boring start since you don't have access to the cool weapons and clever kills, which is the whole point of the game. Play it on mute and give it another shot, it's tons of fun!
