Hey, NL! I had an idea the other day I was wondering if you'd consider, and I kinda think it would help to set NL even more apart from the rest and make it that much more attractive to newcomers and add an extra spice for veterans. How about, say, once a month doing a user profile features article. You could pick a regular NL user at random (or semi-randomly as i'm sure there are a number of NL members who rarely log on or don't post frequently or aren't involved in forums or whatever) and spotlight them with a little mini interview, or even let them write a piece about themselves. Just little things like favorite games, music, movies, tv shows, as well as the reasoning behind their username and then maybe a few quirky questions (the typical "if you could have any superpower" question comes to mind) and a open ended "final word" would really be fun to read. sure a lot of us know a lot of things about PhoenixSage or Adam, but not everything, and there are newcomers who hardly know them at all, and i think over all, not only would it be fun and help us get to know one another better, but it would encourage others who aren't regular posters to get more involved. you could even just start it off with admins and mods before moving on to us regular folk. anyway, those are my thoughts. anybody else think this is a good idea? admins, is this possible?

they are busy, which is why i suggested doing it once a month. and they could have a set list of questions already filled out, so all they have to do is pick a user and send them the questions to fill out, then read over it for content and post it. maybe add one personalized question. or, even easier, have the selected user write about a paragraph just on their own so we get an even better taste of the user's personality. whichever. i just thought it could be a lot of fun.

Sounds like a good idea. But if the admins are unable, us lowly users could set up our own feature.
we could... but it would have to be in the forums, and part of the reason i like this idea so much is because i think after reading a few profiles, a lot of new comers or members who aren't particularly involved forum-wise would be encouraged to become more regular members. and if they're not in the forums to begin with, a forum topic won't change that. still, you're right, and i'd enjoy it if that were the best we could do.

We admins tend to spend a lot of our time chasing up interviews with - no offence intended - important people the games biz. That's how come we've interviewed Hudson Soft, Tecmo, producers on Dead Space Extraction, Red Steel 2, Spore Hero Arena, David Braben of Frontier, Kyle Gray of Henry Hatsworth fame, Yen Hau from Rising Star Games and, of course, the voice of Mario himself, Charles Martinet.
I know I've been beating the "we're busy people" drum here a lot recently, but it's true. We'd rather focus on bringing you guys interesting, engaging content from big shots in the industry - you guys all have your own outlet for your voice here in the forum, on Twitter, your blogs and so on, so to be honest I wouldn't see the point in the site admins conducting regular interviews.
