Magical Starsign - Just a really, really boring game. Very pretty, but very dull and uninspired with poor pacing and a lackluster story.

QFT. I've played a few more worse games on the DS (although only that crappy Rayman 2 port comes to mind) but I knew they sucked shortly after I started playing. Magical Starsign I at least gave a chance and it pretty much got to the " almost every RPG has a terrible start" stuff I was talking about, and never got better. The only good parts of the game were the graphics and that awesome robot.

Not that the game itself is bad, but was anyone else irked at the fact you were forced to use the stylus in the Zelda games?
It drove me nuts!

I love using it here, and there, for neat little things, like in Bowser's inside Story, but being forced to use it for a Zelda game really cheesed me off. I also really disliked the art style in it, I muchly prefer the bright, and vibrant 2D graphics, as opposed to this weird, drab looking 2d/3d thing it has going on.

But, I suppose it all boils down to personal preference.

For me it was the complete opposite. The controls were easily the best part of Phantom Hourglass.

Agree. I really enjoyed them and found them super easy to use. The dungeons were a bit uninspired though.

Don't really have any DS games I don't really like. I got it fairly late in it's lifespan, so I've been able to be very choosy.

Yep I personally could not stand the controls in PH. Have not finished it and don't know if I will. It also prevented me from buying Spirit Tracks. Also I haven't enjoyed a Zelda game since OOT and still my preference is ALTTP.

I have a few games I did not like.

Rondo of Swords - My biggest disappointment by far. Bought it because of the hype and this game just completely rubbed me the wrong way. I hate running through enemies. They say it adds strategy but it just seems like one big cluster.... you get the idea. So much harder to protect casters when you can't create a wall to protect them, not to mention the fact they move painfully slow at 2-3 squares a turn. The animations for fight scenes were terrible, in the fact it looks like the character is being pulled by a cart. The story was cheesy, predictable characters with no originality to it. I just can't think of anything I like about this game. I haven't picked it up in over a year and just talking about it makes me not want to lol.

Magical Starsign - As others have mentioned it was just kinda boring. I never felt much real enjoyment in playing this game and nothing really sucked me in.

Scribblenauts - What was interesting about this game was that I was so sucked in and entertained for several hours, yet the novelty ran dry so quickly. I don't think I have ever played a game that was so fun to me right at first and crashed just several hours later. The puzzles got kinda repetitive. Many of the same items could be used to solve much of the puzzles. People told me I need to be more creative as the game is about using your imagination. Why though when I know in the back of my mind I can simply solve it with pegasus/other random flying object, gun, rope/chain?

Glory of Heracles - Another boring RPG in my mind. The story was meh, fight scenes took way too long, battles occurred way too frequent, inside some long dungeons and the dreaded ship battles! The spell casting system felt gimmicky and easy. All that being said, the game wasn't absolutely terrible, just bland and ho-hum to me.

While these few I didn't like don't get me wrong, there are many others that I love. Way more than I hate.

Going to go with Nintendogs on this one. I borrowed it from my brother-in-law. Just wasn't my type of game and I grew bored with it within a couple hours.

Forgot about this one. Kinda got suckered into it after the awesomeness of Number Battle on DSiWare (same developer). But, I got a new retail copy for only $5 (plus tax, obviously), so it wasn't too terrible of a loss.

Exactly.

Bubble Bobble Revolution and Madagascar. Both were bought by my sister, since I wouldn't dare buying games like that, and yes they were horrible. She actually liked them, though. Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team was pretty bad as well, although I did get some enjoyment out of it, because..well..it's Pokémon. The latest Nintendo DS game I played that was somewhat disappointing is Contact. It's really bland and the story was just not interesting at all, although I admit that I did had a few hours that I was actually enjoying it, so it's not completely rubbish.

Well, surely there must be one or two that you liked less than others?

None that I like enough less that it would be fair to say they were my least favorite, you know. If I had to pick one, I suppose it would be Sonic Rush. It's short and the level design just isn't as sharp as the Genesis games. It's still a lot of fun though.

the latter part of your statement is why i didn't list Contact myself. i did like it for a little while, and i enjoyed the 4th-wall-breaking and LiveJournal-themed instruction booklet that was going on, but the closer i got to the end the more chore-like it became. wound up trading it in, myself.

I'm still waiting for the announced forever ago sequel as I think if given another chance they could really make it a classic.

I started playing FFTA2 a couple of weeks ago and I'm really enjoying it. I spend almost an equal amount of time using the guide book to figure out what loot I need to track down to make weapons and how to unlock the various classes. It definitely hits my gaming sweet spot.

Not a bad game by any means but I haven't gotten much joy out of Final Fantasy IV. I usually don't mind random battles but the ones in this game seem far too frequent. I also really dislike the ATB system. I like to think things through! I'm stuck on the last dungeon and can't bring myself to grind to higher levels. Some of those random monsters are about as hard as bosses. I'm also bummed out that I've missed some good augments like dualcast and omnicast.

D: really?

I loved it! Originally I decided not too get it after release despite great reviews, because the first FFTA got great reviews but wasn't the greatest, but then my sisters told me they bought it for me for Christmas last year a few days in advance, and for some reason I got quite excited for it, needless to say I loved it, all the dumb stuff of the first game was gone. My only real qualms were the stupid AI that removed most difficulty.

Yoshi's Island DS- It was very hard and gimmicky and I never completed it.

Hard?...lol
Wasn't a bad game, but...meh, it was ok. Not hard though, a lot easier compared to the original.

I may be wrong but I think he's talking about 100% each level, which was fairly difficult.

The game wasn't that hard, but mostly 100% not fun to play.

I played Yoshi Island on The GBA, I love that game, and I still have it.
I played and beat that game too 100%, over and over again, as a kid..

Yoshi Island DS did not live up The Original.
Boss fights were poor, Gameplay was wonky, and lack the Carm, that The Original had.

I'm really hoping for a New Yoshi Island game, that brings back its true gameplay.

For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday.

The Legendary Starfy...I honestly have a hard time giving this game an overall score, since its sooo incredibly and ridicously easy.....Aside from finding several of the tressures. Anyways, everything about it is fantastic aside from the kindergartin-like difficulty. Should I keep it, should I seel it? I just don't know.

Honestly, I liked the game alot, yeah its very easy, but its fun, some treasures are very hard to find, and sometime you need to go further to get a powerup to go back and find the treasure, plus it has some increidbly minigames , but its your choice, if with the money you get from the game you can buy another one that you will enjoy more, then do it.

Based on the visuals of their other games, looks like this game would be perfect for Good Feel to bring back. Then again their games are not that hard to complete...maybe Retro then, I dunno, lol.

I say Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon. Yes, I know it's a remake of the original, but even for a remake I felt it had quite a dull story and cast. A remake like Metroid Zero Mission didn't have to worry about the story too much, instead revamping the graphics and maps and music, but for a game that relies on story so much, it seemed inexcusable to leave this remake without a gripping story or at least likeable characters.
