so I'll soon be getting myself a white DSi,(or maybe an other color if I suddenly change my mind)
and I've been wondering about keeping it clean.
I mean, when it was glossy you could just wipe it off, how do I clean the matte finish without ruining the texture?

also hello,I'm new.

Cleaning the Dsi wont be a problem, i just rub it with my shirt or finger and its like new.

ahh, really? for some reason I thought it's really easy to scratch and stuff, but maybe I'm picturing a different matte finish, haha.

Welcome to Nintendo Life mish!
I keep my DSi in a plastic shell casing so I never have to worry about fingerprints. Even without the case I never really had any problems keeping it clean. Just use a clean soft cloth, that does the job nicely.

What I do is just take a soft cloth and rub it on smudges and fingerprints.
That works.

I loved the mate finish first but now i hate it
I have my second DSi (sold the first one to my brother) and it gets ugly scratches so easily
I always have it in a DS sock and take good care of it but if you just slightly come across with your fingernails, for example when you put in another game while the DSi is opened, you can get a scratch that won't go away anymore
I'm really picky when it comes to scratches on my handhelds
I really miss the Gameboy Color and Advance kind of plastic where you could only get scratches if you cut it with a knife or something
That is all.

my black dsi has been covered with horrible scratches since the first day i bought it. so i got a case guard exactly like (or very similar) this one:
Untitled
it makes it a little bulky, but atleast its a different not-so-easy-to-scratch color for my dsi!

I have a Mario skin on my DSi, and a plastic shell case, it looks wonderfull and protects your DSi from scratches

I placed a skin on my old GBA SP. It's not that it looks that great but it sure does look a lot better than the scratches it has.

No more metallic portables for me. My black DS Lite may have gotten a few scratches, too, but at least you don't see it because of the colour.

I have a case that I ordered from Japan from a company that I met at the E3 '09 show: my-wasabi.com
I have been happy with my DSi and its case and I just upgraded my husband to the DSi and ordered his case the other day.

@froggievilleus: they sell cases? all i'm seeing are skins... nm, i found 'em :3 they're all absolutely amazing and i totally want one, but since the shipping pretty much doubles the price, i'm'a hafta hold off on that for now :/

I have a rubber case for my DSi which I use when I bring it out. Otherwise I'm careful with mine at home and I haven't noticed any scratches.

Slightly off-topic, but the DSi's matte finish feels a heck of a lot better than the DS Lite's shiny plastic. I tried using a friend's Lite the other day and it felt like I was holding a toy. :/ Just to be sure, I got out my old Lite and it really does feel toy-ish and altogether less comfortable imo.

the dsi's matte finish can get scratched pretty easily but it's only noticable if you put it near a light. (tv, lamp, monitor) well that's what goes for the black dsi anyway. also, if you have a black dsi and your hands are greasy it will leave a noticible spot but can be easily wiped off. that's what goes for the black dsi, as said before. i don't know about the white. i reccomend getting a skin of a hard case just to be on the safe side. nerf cases does a good job if you ask me:D

I don't have a DSi but I have a crimson DS Lite and the bottom part is black matte, and I haven't noticed any scratches.

@mastersworddude the DSi's matte is slightly different from the crimson DS's
it is a little more soft

Hi Giggs ... Welcome to NintendoLife.
I don't know about the skins on the link you provided .... their website isn't even working right now. But there is a company I would recommend: http://www.skins4things.com/
I bought a skin from there nearly a year ago (when the DSi first came out) and mine still looks great. They're a UK company, and will ship to you in India. Check them out.
