Topic: Best DS racing games.

Mario Kart DS is on the top of the list. Many reasons. It has very perfect handling compared to most mario karts. It has great graphics and animations and is just a must have.
Need for speed pro street has the best handling and graphical design for the NFS series on DS. IMO. it also is a semi-simulator, because i played pro street on ps2 and the cars handled somewhat the same(just clunky sometimes but normally during boosts).

Most games that are racing for ds played on 3ds takes a little time to rememorize how they work fast is a little hard but very easy to do once you get the feel.

The only DS racing game I've played,that was good is Mario Kart DS.
I heard Sonic and SEGA All Stars Racing was also pretty good on DS.

GRID was good. more realistic. well as realistic as it can get on the DS

The best racing games on DS (in no paticular order)

Nothing's gonna top Mario Kart DS on a handheld for a looong time meethinks. Including any new Mario Kart.

Mario Kart DS: It's fun, addicting and has charm in every sense of these words.
Sonic & Sega All Stars Racing ( I only played a demo off the Nintendo Channel but it played great, if not better than the console versions to me).
Diddy Kong Racing DS : I know this one gets a lot of hate because it does not feel have the original charm, plus the fact that Banjo and Conker were replaced by Tiny and Dixie. But it is still a ton of fun, plus they toned down the difficulty. If there was one thing I hated about the original version, it was racing around the track the seconds time trying to collect all of those coins and then finishing in first. Plus it has more characters to unlock and has a bit more content then the N64 version. It's sad that this was Rare's only DS games, as rumors said that Rare proposed a new Banjo Kazooie and Donkey Kong Country 4 to Nintendo but were turned down to work on DKR DS. Which if the rumor is true, not worth it. DKR DS is still great and does not deserve hat from some because Banjo and Conker were removed because of copyright issues with Microsoft. FYI Rare is still allowed to make games for Nintendo portables for some reason ( I think it is because Microsoft does not have a portable console).

yeah dude Mario Kart DS. It PERFECTED the formula. The controls, the retro levels, the challenges, NINTENDO'S FIRST LEGIT ONLINE GAME. Mario Kart DS ruled the world, especially when it first came out. No contest.

I think it depends on what kind of gamer you are. I've always had Nintendo consoles for as long as I can remember, my brother was a massive gaming geek so I was always roped into playing with him, it also means I've grown up with games like Mario Kart, Super Mario 64, Super Smash Brothers etc so I would agree with you in saying that Mario Kart DS (like all the other Mario Karts) is absolute top notch, it will always be #1 in my list of games, no matter what category. However if you're the more serious type of gamer, I can see why Need for Speed would be preferred. I personally find that I get better value for money with Mario games, seeing as no matter how old it is, I can always pick it up again and have a swell time playing it! Helps a lot that this place here proper sorts me out for Cheap Nintendo DS Games.

I didn't like racing MK DS online because everyone "snaked" like it was going out of style. I wasn't very good at performing the manuever and thus I didn't come in first many times online :
