I really want to make a Metal Mario amiibo, and I think it would be easy enough if I get the right spray paint. However I'll wait until they make a new Mario amiibo, I think the flame feels out-of-place with M. Mario.
On the other hand, that pose is perfect for a Fire Mario! I'd love to do that since that is my favorite alt palette.
I will try painting my own custom amiibo in the future, but I don't know what I want to do...A shiny black charizard is a good possibility.
I think putting a clear coat of varnish or gloss or whatever over the final paint would be very helpful for protecting it, but I need to look into that. I'm not sure what kind of product to use.

I gave him a little paint job to fix sloppyness and replaced the blue chunk with a rocky ground made of hot glue. His bow was too purplish so I painted it blue, and put some extra details on him. I sprayed it with Krylon spray varnish when done.
