YES and hopefully on Day 1 I want it so bad I see it as a huge disadvantage to not have one as quick as possible

Not until after my birthday, which is August 12. Don't have enough money for it now.

From what I've gathered, response to the 3DS in many different gaming communities has been overwhelmingly positive. Even PSP owners are excited about it. I just think people are being smart with their money this time.

There are few benefits to being an early adopter. If you wait then the price of the system and/or its games may drop, the game library will be larger, bugs and flaws will be found, support will improve and firmware updates or hardware revisions will be released. There are no benefits for preordering it - no limited edition devices, free 3DS Point Cards or discounts that we are aware of. AFAIK there are no real disadvantages to waiting on it.

Ya.

No. 'Cause I have no money. Good thing I have enough new DS games to tide me over until I do.

retired_account

Yep, I'll be buying it at launch.

I just came against a dilema, I might be able to get a PS3 but I will also have the chance to get a 3DS I don't know which to choose

Perhaps your decision can be influenced by the wealth of information on the 3DS over the next two months

I am going to preorder it either at Gamestop or Amazon, and the 3DS will be mine on day one!

No, but if the transfer of downloadable content is pretty straightforward I could see potentially upgrading to the eventual 3DS LL (mine would be Japanese, of course).

I would love you import a console from Japan as i'm a learner of Japanese but thats not going to happen for now. But what I do is import games from Japan as DS games aren't reigion locked. Im getting Tadashi Kanji Kakitorikun, a game that was made in Japan, to help me with Kanji

I might have to check that out as I too am trying to learn Japanese (just not that seriously). The Sonomama Rakubiki Jiten seems like a good thing to get as it has 3 dictionaries in one and you can apparently look up kanji by writing in the character (or photographing it? Not sure on that).

Oh and in case it wasn't clear from my initial post, I'm not interested in going to smaller screens. Given the LL was my first exposure to the DS, I cannot see doing that - not like my eyes are getting better with age!
