Topic: When Is SEGA Gonna Realize NiGHTS Is Ideal For The E-Shop?

So today I played NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams for the first time, and I realized that it's simple and quick gameplay style would be perfect for 3DS. However, nobody would really buy a full priced retail title, as, well, it's NiGHTS. However, a $5 to $10 download would likely sell like hotcakes, if not for the fact that it's NiGHTS, then for the fact that it's an inexpensive game by SEGA. Do you guys think it could be a good idea?

Nothing on the Wii U sells amazingly well, especially not a niche port from a flopped 20 year old console, that's already available on XB Marketplace and PSN. Honestly, Wii U is doing so bad right now it's not worth the effort.

Not that it matters, as Sega is too busy not making any series a success in America that isn't Sonic.

I'm pretty sure he was suggesting that NiGHTS being distributed on the 3DS eShop, not the Wii U.

Personally, I've never played a game in the NiGHTS series. However, I have heard good things about it. An eShop NiGHTS release might be just the thing to encourage new players to give the series a spin. Plus, I'd imagine that an eShop release would be easier for SEGA to make a profit from.

I foresee what you'll do there.

The worst the SEGA can do is to released games that was available on Steam, Xbox 360, and PS3 for Wii U eShop unless converting the codes and stuffs is very expensive. I starting to think things are expensive to make for Wii U right now.

Umm… Care to have some gravy?

It would be a good fit for the 3DS, for sure. OutRun 1 and 2, as well.

Journey into Dreams is a Wii game.

The original Nights into Dreams (Saturn) is the best thing Sonic Team has ever done period.

The Saturn didn't really flop everywhere anyway - it is just like with the PC Engine the Japanese made the best choice.

I'd love to get Saturn on Wii U VC. That should be easier than making a new game for them.

I don't think so. That is the reason Nights into Dreams has always been ported not emulated and even the best Saturn emulator is still only 95% finished.
