Topic: What's your favorite Harvest Moon game ever?

This year, two Harvest Moon titles are coming out for 3DS. Whenever a new game in this series emerges, I always think back to all my past farms and the fun games in the series. Which is your favorite?

Mine is Harvest Moon: Animal Parade for Wii. The controls were nice, the gameplay was fun, the storyline wasn't bad, and it was very detailed. It took the great features from past titles, but added things to that formula as well. It was a perfect combination and it's probably my most successful farm in my Harvest Moon history.

Friends of Mineral Town was the only one I've ever bothered to finish, so I guess that one. I do remember liking Animal Parade a lot, though.

Friends of Mineral Town. After that the series went downhill in my eyes (or didn't go anywhere, one or the other) so I lost pretty much all interest in it. I'd played the three GBC entries before it, but apart from that I haven't played much of the series overall.

My least favorite would have to be the port of the original to DS. I bought mine used and I think it was broken or something. I stumbled around, never knowing how to get into the city, and not having fun. So I sold it and got Sunshine Islands for DS. It's super fun and the best handheld Harvest Moon I've played.

Is A New Beginning fun? I was thinking of getting it for cheap used, but I don't know if I should.

I've only played a couple of them on the DS but I really liked the style, my favorite one was the Bazaar one though I also remember it being short and easier than the others.

64, Friends of Mineral Town, Tale of Two Towns, Sunshine Islands and A Wonderful Life are some of the ones I have enjoyed the most.

Hopefully they put some of the great DS ones on Wii U VC.

Is Friends of Mineral Town really that good? I guess I need to check it out.

64. One of my favourite games of all time. I haven't liked any other Harvest Moon game I've played since then - I've played DS, Sunshine Islands and Magical Melody. But 64 was a fantastic experience. I loved the simplicity of it - the main problem I have with the other games is that there is so much to do it becomes overwhelming. I seriously just love 64 so much - are there any other games like that one in the series?

Animal Parade is kind of complicated. Some of the Gamecube titles are more basic, and I've heard A New Beginning is more basic.

I didn't like the N64 one, at all. I liked A Wonderful Life, but I was pretty bad at it. Those are the only 2 I've played.

Harvest Moon Magical Melody. It put the gameplay a step backwards, by putting it in a SNES-esque camera view and introducing no new characters. However, there was plenty of variety in the game and didn't overcomplicate anything

64 is hands down my favorite of the main series. Rune Factory is my favorite spinoff.

Magikarp3

Friends of Mineral Town. It had the best money curve so it really felt like you were working towards something. Also nostalgia but the world of that game was huge by handheld standards.

A New Beginning was alright I guess, but it's one of the slowest starting HM games. It takes some serious willpower to get past the first spring and summer

always thought I'd change to Gyarados after I turned 20 but hey, this is more fitting I guess. (also somebody registered under the original Magikarp name and I can't get back to it anymore orz)
