Anybody played this one yet? I've read a couple of reviews online that were positive but what does anybody who's played it think of it? It looks like a neat little turn-based strategy game like Fire Emblem or Shining Force.

I heard it's actually pretty good. The 3D effect doesn't add much, but from what I've heard and read it's a very decent strategy game.

Have this one. Loving it. Great turn based strategy. With each of your characters have there own special abilities, its great how you have to plan things out. Love the camouflage one. None of your enemies can see you unless they manage to stand right next to you. But she can do a close up instant knife kill thats very handy. And a silenced pistol that doesnt reveal her position. Its so funny to see you enemies walk by her without notice. Graphics arent mind blowing but suit the style of this game making things clear and noticeable. Personally I like the 3D effect of how it shows the depth from higer grounds to lower.

That's pretty much what it is. This is the only 3DS title that interested me and would have been my only purchase with the 3DS. It gets pretty good praise from the "research" I've done on the 'net.

I'm playing this game for the review at the moment and I'm enjoying it. For strategy/turn based game fans this is worth consideration. The review will probably be up later this week, and I'll try to cover as much as I can. I think with games like this around I would argue that the launch line-up isn't as weak as some would suggest.

This is ground control to major Tom, you've really made the grade. And the papers want to know whose shirts you wear

OK, so if I like this game then according to everyone who is comparing them, I would like Advanced Wars, correct? Is it the same type of gameplay?

The multiplayer is kinda lame, you just pass the 3DS back and forth and to my knowing, there's no wireless or wi-fi multiplayer.

well thanks for telling me that.

I got wiped out at the farmhouse in Chapter 2, several times, but slided though nicely by capturing the first flag, taking my time, doing an airstrike and moving the team through the northern route. It's a good game, the technology is secondary but facilitates a nice inferface for it. 100% playability. Very much an advance wars feel to the gameplay, but so far it seems you have a bit more flexibility in tactics (at least on the easy setting), some levels in advance wars was really tight.

Off topic, is there blood in Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars 3D?

Monster Hunter for the win!!!!! Check out my music album at https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/fifteen-ep/id589290511

@Portista can't recall any blood being shown. When soldiers die, they dissapear in a puff of smoke.

It's rated PEGI 12 for violence and bad language.

Decided to revive this thread because this game need so much more than anyone is giving this game. This game is fantastic and don't normally like strategy games but remove the S from Rpg you get well RPG and do love me some RPGs. The story is some what lame but it works. Overall even though Ubisoft has most likely set a world record for most amount of video game launch title failures is there always has to one good game and it is this game. Overall from what I have played I would give an 8/10 so if you want a 3DS game to last you until May or June this and street fighter are going to get you there.

Yeah I really like this one as well so far. Graphically, it's nothing to get excited about and the 3D effect adds little. But I love the music and the gameplay is great. It reminds me of Advance Wars mixed with Commando's. So turn based strategy with only six unique characters. I like it.

Such a huge fan. Played for 2 hours tonight (along with Pilotwings Resort) and it's a stellar game. Balance seems a bit too generous so far but I'm on the 2nd of 3 difficulties and I'm really early.

Has anyone else experienced the black screen of death on this title? I have had it four times since picking it up on launch day. Also, unlike the Super Monkey Ball crashes, turning off WiFi doesn't seem to fix the issue.

Secondly, I have noticed on two occasions that the 3DS doesn't recognize the card. Each time, I had been leaving the game running and in sleep mode for around 12 hours of time. Each time, regardless of what I did (re-insert card, power cycle, check for dust, and so on) the 3DS would not recognize the card. Only after waiting for an additional 6-8 hours did the 3DS recognize the card again. Because of this issue, I now exit back to the main 3DS menu and shut the game down with the x button.

With shutting the game down, I no longer experience the second issue. However, even after this the game still has crashed on me with the black screen of death...

I hope that the next firmware update resolves the crashing issue.

Nope this has never happened to me, but I rarely turn the wireless on so I haven't noticed any crashing...yet.

I just got this one too and it certainly deserves the good praise it's getting. And I actually like the multiplayer. I think the pass and play multiplayer is a great idea. It's turn based anyway so having two 3DS's wouldn't make a difference, and we only have 1 3DS so it's perfect for us.
Also, I'm happy to say there have been no issues with black screen of death, is it a completely random crash? did it happen when you got deeper in the game? was it always after something out of the ordinary like 12 hours of being paused? I only play in short bursts of gaming, and I'm wondering if people are stressing their systems or doing something weirder than I'm doing to get a crash. going back and forth from home menu or anything like that...
