hmmm, do you think this game will be localized? Because while I'm not interested in the prequel... the sequel seems to deliver what I wish the first gives to me... o: -And now is aiming to save money to buy a good earphones so I can listen to the awesomeness of this without worries!-

My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.

Well, there was a US trademark registered, so that's a good sign I guess.

Not a moderator I was occasionally doing translations of Japanese articles for the site last year.
I highly doubt that this game wouldn't make it out of Japan. I thought there was already a tentative release window for it.
Just to let everyone know, a demo for the game was released on the Japanese -shop during the Nintendo Direct last night.
It includes Seymor Battle from FFX, Crimson Blitz from Lightning Returns: FFXIII, and a track from XIV.

Got a chance to play through the demo, there are some definite improvements since the last game!
I was really surprised at all the nice little changes to the graphical style and the sound effects. It seems like the sound quality has improved, and the backgrounds, particularly in the field stages look really nice.
One thing I did notice right away is the really cool effect that was added to the notes when getting a certain amount of chains. This really nice rainbow effect starts to radiate from the cursor.
The menu is updated as well, allowing the songs to be organized by genre, alphabetically (on by hiragana in Japanese), or in release order.
I did try to play the game in the new button mode. While it is possible, its not very stable so I don't know why anyone would use that, especially since the accuracy of the touch mode with the stylus is improved. I remember having some trouble with the diagonal slash notes in the first game, but this game is a bit more forgiving with that, and it does seem that the placement of the notes along with the rhythm of the songs is better in this one.
Sadly there were only three songs in the demo, so it was kind of short, but I'm glad to have gotten a taste of it.

What new modes are in the game? (Besides the one from the iOS version of the game, which is pretty cool). Please tell me there's a random quick play mode or a music player.
Also, have you encountered any new character besides the ones we already know about?
