Since I saw there was no topic for this game, I decided to make one.

Very excited for this game. I was actually just looking forward to an expanded version of the original, but a full sequel is, of course, much better.

http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Theatrhythm_Final_Fantasy:...
According to this source, all of the songs from the original will be in the new game, though it doesn't say if this includes all DLC as well as the iOS exclusive songs, though some of the characters from that version will be in this game.

Any songs that were missing from Final Fantasy games that you'd like to see in this version? I'm glad the song list will be so huge, as 5-7 songs per game just wasn't enough in my opinion.

This game does include songs from the sequel games and spin-offs as well, so that's good for people that liked FF X-2, or Mystic Quest, or Tactics.

Really looking forward to this.

I just want them to include songs from the remakes of the older games. Repetitive Beeps and boops are nice, but they're not rhythm game material.

While I can see your point, I do wonder up to which point you consider them to be the "older games". I think the battle songs for FF IV and V are pretty fun and epic, and actually I do like the music from III.

I mean the original three, though there are better versions of the songs up to V thanks to remakes.

It's not because they're bad, I love the music from II and III, but the tunes are far to short and with very little variation.

Most NES songs in the game get repeated from 3 to 4 times before the end of the level

My main example would be the overworld theme from II, the original tune is like 30 seconds long (maybe less!), the remakes feature a longer and better version of it that would go great with this gameplay.

I guess I can see that problem with some of the songs (especially the DLC for the first three), some of the tracks from the first three games like Battle2 from FFIII or Battle Scene 2 from FFII which work in their original forms. It would be cool if there were options to play some of them in the updated form.

I personally think its cool to listen to the tracks and see the evolution of the music. Comparing my three favorite songs, Battle 2 from FFIV, Battle 2 from FFIX, and Sabre's Edge/Blades Edge from FFXIII, its really interesting to see how the quality of the compositions, the technique of the composers, and the change in technology really evolved along with the games.

I did notice also that about 90% of the time I play the battle music. Its just so much more fun.

I tend to prefer field music... It's usually easier haha. Many field songs in the ipad version are also some of my favorite songs, like the credits themes from 8 and 9. I also love Dark City Treno and Vana'diel March

Talking about battle songs.. The Advent Children version of One Winged Angel is brutal, not because it's overly hard, but it is pretty long... The longest song in the entire game.

It would be really cool if they included completely redone instrumental and/or electronic versions of the songs in this version.
I'd also love the ability to play songs at random or at least in mini quests like in the ios version.

Dark City Treno is a good song, I can admit that. I guess for me, I love a good fast paced, brutal challenge, so I love those hard level battle songs. Bring 'em on!

Two songs that I was hoping would be in were Dancing Calcobrena from FFIV and Children Run Through the City from FFVI. A lot of good music from those games didn't make it in the first one.

As long as there are more tracks from Final Fantasy IX (and IV and V and VI and VII and VII - just 5-7 featured songs can't truly represent how amazing those soundtracks are), I'll be picking this up on day one. Actually, I'll get it even if that's not the case - assuming there's a NA release. The first game was just so addicting.

In particular, I'd like to see:

We Are Thieves!
Mods de Chocobo
Spreading Grand Wings/The Dragon Spreads Its Wings

I'm hoping for more Final Fantasy 10 songs! Some choice ones would be

FFX Battle Theme
FFX Revealed Truth
FFX Tragedy

I think FFXII's The battle for freedom should be in Curtain Call.

"I'll take a potato chip... AND EAT IT!"
Light Yagami, Death Note
"Ah, the Breakfast Club soundtrack! I can't wait 'til I'm old enough to feel ways about stuff!"
Phillip J. Fry, Futurama

I'll go ahead and second that.

I'd also like to see both XII's and XIII-2's versions of "Clash on the Big Bridge" make it in.

I'd never heard these (I've never played any FF game after X, though I've heard the soundtrack to XIII in its entirety. Never had a PS3), but even though I love the FFV Clash on the Big Bridge, I am fairly impressed with XIII-2's version, though I think the tempo could be quickened up a bit. I think it would be fun to play that one.

Not into XII's version. For some reason it feels like its trying hard to feel fully orchestrated (though its clearly got a lot of synth elements in it), but it just doesn't feel powerful enough like it would if done by an actual orchestra.

I'd like to see
-IV Dancing Calcobrena
-VI Save Them!, Children Run Through the City, and Grande Finale
-VIII Pretty much the entire series of boss themes(Premonition, The Legendary Beast, Maybe I'm a Lion) as well as Only a Plank Between One and Perdition
-XI Hunter's Chance, and if you want to be funny then Fairy Battle
-X Assault, both versions of Suteki da ne playable
-X-2 Aeons, YRP Battle 2, LeBlanc Syndicate Battle
-XIII I know its her own licensed music, but I actually really like the theme for the Japanese version (I live in Japan so its the only theme I know), but part of me wants Sayuri Sugawara's Kimi Ga Iru Kara.
-Type-O in the same vein, it would be cool to have Zero from Bump of Chicken, though I think like with Sugawara's Kimi Ga Iru Kara, these songs are full singles outside of the game's soundtracks, and the music would have to be licensed right? I'm not sure how that works.

Awesome! And since this is both an expanded version and a sequel, is makes sense that all of the previous game's songs are included (even though the article in that link didn't say those exact words, other sources have, so I'm just going to hope that's the case).

I'm looking forward to this one a lot.

Really? I never noticed it lol! I decided pretty early on not to open the DLC store because I knew once I'd open it all the money in my wallet would go into it

I did for a while. There were certain songs I needed to have to make the game feel complete. namely:
Battle 2 Final Fantasy IX http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9imGOOqh7uQ
Battle 2 Final Fantasy IV http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZxafdHnmZzI
Fighting Fate Final Fantasy XIII http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=usf3-SD4XyQ

I felt these songs were too epic too not have in the game. Then the iOS version came out with its own exclusives and I felt a little cheated, so I stopped buying DLC. This sequel makes up for it though. I forgive you Square!

By the way, how are you guys posting hyperlinks? I used to know how to do that but I haven't in a long time.
