Hey there. I've seen that many people hate this console, and seriously I don't get why, it has so many good games. Now let me give an opinion on the games I've played on it.
-Zelda Ocarina of Time 3d: Awesome remake for an awesome game (and more accessible than the original thanks to the touch screen options), 5 stars;
-Star Fox 64 3d: good remake for an another great classic, too bad that it lacks online modes, 4 stars;
-Super Mario 3d Land, a really good platform game even if is a little bit easy in the first half, 4.5 stars;
-Mario Kart 7, my favorite Mario Kart game by far (expecially for the designs of the tracks), 4.5 stars;
-Kid Icarus Uprising, THE BEST GAME EVER MADE. 5 stars;
-New Super Mario Bros 2, useless, 1 star;
-Paper Mario Sticker Star, despite it's flaws I really liked it, 4 stars;
-Luigi's Mansion 2, a great sequel for a very good game, 5 stars;
-Fire Emblem Awakening: great story, great gameplay, 5 stars;
-Animal Crossing New Leaf: a really nice game to pass time without too much worries, 4.5 stars;
-Mario & Luigi Dream Team Bros.: great gameplay, and very good humor, 5 stars.
And those are only the games I've played, because it has many other great games like Professor Layton, Resident Evil Revelations (even it's not an exclusive anymore), Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance, Shin Megami Tensei IV and others. Also there are many other games on the way like Pokemon X & Y, Zelda A Link Between Worlds, Layton VS Phoenix Wright, Bravely Default and Monster Hunter 4.
IMHO a console must be judged by the games it has, the 3ds has A LOT of games, maybe some are better than others, but for me only one (of the IMPORTANT games) is bad (NSMB2). This console is good, stop to say is bad.
I don't know anyone that says it's bad...
Who exactly is saying this? When it comes to the internet the 3DS seems to be loved on every site that supports every console in their news.

The 3DS has felt a bit empty for me in terms of its retail titles. None of my 17 games have really grabbed my attention in the long run, and I feel like as I replay some of them that I'm trying to force that appeal just to lighten my general feelings. The 3DS is only great to have personally for my eShop downloads, Mutant Mudds and Colors! 3D especially, and that I can treat it as a fully functional well-lit DS system. I'm sure I've put more time towards DS titles than I have 3DS retail titles.

Who hates the 3DS?: Every site I go to praises the system unless they a Microsoft or Sony-centric website. The portable that tends to be dragged through the mud with the illusion that there are no good games on it is the Vita.
I'm not saying the Vita is perfect, but its like the PSP before it. People bash the hell out of it and ignore the good games that are on the platform.
But yeah, the 3DS is pretty much loved all over the place. Maybe in 2011, I might have agreed, but not now.
It's the Vita that is being dragged through the mud and bashed unfairly.
3DS is the Best modern handheld in terms of good games and local multiplayer!(no matter where I go there are always people with a 3DS mine's still broken though... )

I'd wager by the end of the 3DS generation that it will go in history as one of the better consoles every released. Besides the awesome games the whole StreetPass thing I think is a rather breakthrough feature.
I just may have some weird outlook on the 3DS, but for me it is the first handheld console from Nintendo that has home console like experiences.
the only way to make something that looks better than the 3DS without some mad hardware upgrades, screen resolution increases and a second circle pad would be making a single "screen" console which its "screen" would be a box made by many transparent layers that work like an HD LED cube making REAL 3D images inside the cube! that or touch holograms.

85%-ultra cool(it might be a higher percentage other than that- 'nuff said!)
10%-could be better(no account system isn't the end of the world nor is the need for a second circle pad)
4%-completely unused potential(AR everybody!)
1%-screwed up(buttons break too easily)
