@DefHalan I think having the Y button + Circle Pad is a good very idea.
However, if I were mapping the Circle Pad Pro, I'd leave the Y button as the jump, and the Right Circle Pad would be Smash Attacks.
Still though, I love changing the Y to Smash Attacks.

I agree with @DefHalan's Y Button Quick Smash. It'd be like Wii U's Right Analog Quick Smash.

I believe it was announced that Smash Bros would be supporting Circle Pad Pro (not 100% sure and don't have anything to reference) but not everyone has it. The only other option I can think of is to have Smash Attacks on the touch screen but I think most people would rather have a button.

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Alright, I definitely want to change it. Thanks to @DefHalan

Untitled Circle Pad | Move
Untitled | Standard Attack
Untitled | Special Attack
Untitled | Jump
Untitled | Stick-smash/Smash Attack
Untitled | Grab
Untitled | Shield
Untitled | Taunts (possibly 3 like Brawl)
Untitled | Pause
Untitled | (None)

(Smash Run only) As for the touch screen, maybe you could toggle between the map and your character's stats/items. I think it makes the most sense.
I could see items being used too.

There are other screens showing armor and items, but I can't find it. You can also see Pikachu in the Direct use an item. It appears out of nowhere and this makes me think you use the touch screen to use them.

I'm not sure about the map toggle but I'm fairly sure that the touch screen will be used to use your 'powers' if that one screenshot of the bottom screen with Mario is any indication.

Okay, so I have a question that will also be on the Wii U thread.
Let's predict how the controls will work on the game. I'll try to map out how the controls might work.

Untitled Circle Pad | Move
Untitled | Standard Attack
Untitled | Special Attack
Untitled/Untitled | Jump
Untitled | Grab
Untitled | Shield
Untitled | Taunts (possibly 3 like Brawl)
Untitled | Pause
Untitled | (None)

I'll assume that there will be customization for controls.

Wii U Controls

That's pretty much what I think, except maybe L and R will both be shield, and Y will be used for grabbing. Also, I barely ever use the quick-smash thing or whatever, but that could be the D-pad, and taunts could be done with the touch screen.

Waiting for Kirby Air Ride 2. One day, it will come. One day...

Actually, taunts could be used with Select.

Just like in Brawl with the Wiimote, you could "Smash" the taunt to get different ones.

I was also thinking that, but the Select button could also be the Pause button.

Either way, I'm just thinking what the preset controls will be. I'm just hoping that custom controls will be in.

I hope so, I rather use the control pad to move.

Heres what would be my controls. (which might appear a bit unusual)

Control pad- Move
B- jump
Y-standard attack
L- Special attack
X+control pad- Taunt
R- Block

I'm not too worried about the controls, considering I could play Brawl on just a Wii remote

I am wondering if people are going to get Smash Bros in a physical or digital form? It seems like a game I will always want to have with me and is very easy to pick up and play anywhere, so I plan on getting it digital. I have not decided for the Wii U version but for the 3DS versions I am totally going Digital

I'll be getting the digital version for the same reason. Smash Bros on the go, PLUS always just a stylus tap away? Yes please!

I may get digital if it comes late summer. In the early summer, I won't have access to fantastic internet

Heh, awesome.

After seeing custom move sets, I said to myself "I'll make him like he is in the trailer"

Miis would make a lot of sense with customizable movesets.

You could make basically a Mii version of any humanoid character you want and then make an approximate moveset for it.

another reason to appear in the game. Many people believe they will not show up...

Well. They already have three stages from Mii games:

The Wii Sports Resort Island, Find Mii and Tomodachi Collection.

And they were a really big part of the the Wii.

It would be odd if they don't appear.

The zoomed out view of the layout of Smash Run bears a striking resemblance to the Underground Maze in Melee's Adventure mode. Granted, Smash Run is much larger and more diverse, but it has the same feel and look to it. This is a very good thing, as I wanted something similar to appear in the new games. Mushroom Kingdom and Underground Maze are my favorite parts of Adventure Mode. Side-scrolling, beating up on enemies from different Nintendo franchises, exploring the different areas....oh yeah, this'll be good.

Beep.
That is all.
