I really liked the demo though my big issue with it is the really small demo usage limit. 8 isn't enough for a game that's coming out in 2 weeks.

Yeah, I'm kinda wondering what the point of that is. I mean, if they think replaying the demo over and over again would somehow subtract from the game, they can't think that much of the rest of the game!

I quite enjoyed the demo. Thought they got the gameplay quite nice. Although I really only bothered using Sonic, the rest seemed largely superfluous.
My main complaint was that the level felt incredibly generic and had very little character or sense of progression. If you saw a screenshot of the level, it could be about 1 of 50 different places in the game. Whereas think of something like Super Metroid, what made it so great was the sense of really exploring a deep and engrossing environment.

Okay, I take back what I said about the game not being speedy. I played it again and speed ran it fairly easily. But I think the Metroidvania approach is a very bad sign for the rest of the game. Especially after Lost World, where the first few levels were actually speedy and then most of the rest were slow and puzzly. It wouldn't surprise me at all if SC went a similar route, so I'm going to wait and see what the full game holds before making a final decision on this one.

@Pokefanmum82 you may be right over there but since you don't get all the characters at first glance, this means nothing at all. Take a great game like Wario Land 3 which doesn't have a map but the level design is so simple and it only takes a few moments to realize what you're suppose to do to make progress and even if that is so hard to tell, you can get assistance for where to go next.

Here, even with the map, the game is just plain ridiculous. Again in Wario Land 3, the levels are made so that you could easily tell what to do next like which direction to head to but here....NO! Why does this game have lots of optional stuff like maps and crystals? If you need a specific set of crystals to make progress, that's fine but why does the level design have to be so long to do that? Being a platformer, you should easily head to the exit without the length being such an issue. This game isn't even better than Risky's revenge let alone trying to be a good metroidvania style.

After so long...I'm back. Don't ask why

Meh, uninspired and generic platformer. With that said, it is just a demo, so maybe there's more than the eye can see.

It was a fun demo but one problem; too much emphasis on sonic. I just don't see why SEGA should make it about teamwork if you're gonna put one character first. Even if that character is SEGA'S mascot.

I would rather play Sonic.EXE on my 3DS.

okay first of all i have to say i never played a real sonic game before. i only played the sonic lost world demo for 3ds which was awful! i dont have interest in the old school sonic games because they look like half the time you have no controll over sonic. it is not about exploration like super mario games but more about speed. i am not really into that.

the demo of sonic boom was good. not great. just good. the 2D platforming level is my least favourite of the demo. the combat feels wrong and again i feel like i can not explore everything in one playthrough. sonic is about speed right? well i can not have fun with that because i can not see what comes in front of sonic. the camera angle is not good. i also hate that you loose coins for getting hit by an enemy. i really liked the fast running level where you have to switch the laces. that was quite cool. the 3rd level with the race was also okay but nothing too exciting.
visuals were okay. sound? no idea. can not remember any tune so i guess it is not mindblowing

Anyone know why the game is supposed to be out today but no reviews?

Sega's holding the review copies so that the reviews don't harm the sales (allegedly).

Lol, really? That's hilarious if it's true. Haha that's like going on a blind date and covering your face, just in case.
