Topic: SMT: Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers

The music is amazing and I've only listened to the cd thus far. Hopefully ill get some time with this tonight or tomorrow.

Got my copy from Gamestop; will play later tonight. :]

The last two Atlus games I got (Code of Princess and Etrian Odyssey 4) both came in a box with a CD and artbook, so will all first fun copies come with the CD and artbook, because i'm planning on getting this game when I get my check this week.

Just cd no art book this time.

Game is amazing I love it to death.
Though I did run into a few Japanese text errors.

The occult themes are definitely my favorite part about the Megaten games, and it's definitely present here. Fun so far, though you can definitely tell, at times, this game was released in '97.

Oh, and Nemissa is hot. ;]

I'm gonna start it up tonight.

Against my better judgment, I started playing this game tonight. It's definitely a neat and very retro experience. I love the grungy graphics, creepy music, and Saturn-era FMVs. It's a real trip back to the 90s. The plot is pretty strong so far. My only complaint might be that I don't like how the dialogue will continue without you having to prompt it first.

I also started playing this last night if only to unlock streetpass. It's pretty interesting so far as at first something about it was rubbing me the wrong way. After a while I started getting into the story and conversations with demons more and now I can tell I'm really going to like it! Still I'm going to stop playing it now till I at least beat EO4 otherwise I know I never will! (And maybe just maybe get back into overclocked)

I have to say, some of the conversations with demons in this game are hilarious. Half of them I've just talked out of fighting with me.

yeah and I'm glad you still get some experience for that even if its hardly any.

I do however find myself just spamming the auto battle on almost every encounter. The only one I didn't do that with was the boss in the first building once you were on your own and not that vision.

OK, so the message auto-advance can be turned off. Thank god. That was my biggest problem with the game so far.

Be sure to use that Nemichi thing if you have play coins or are streetpassing a lot. He's helpful for builking up your stock of demons.

I don't auto-battle because I like conserving MP. The random encounters in this game actually elicit a little more thought from me than random battles in EO4. Be prepared, though, the second main "boss fight" is a real bruiser.

I believe there are at least 2 versions of the SMT series. There is the 1st person dungeon demon breeding games and the Persona series which are more about relationships and your main characters obtaining different personas with various powers.

This particular game is the 1st person dungeon breeding game. The concept is similar to Pokemon except the contents are mature and the collecting of demons is more complicated. The stories always have a dark theme with sci-fi bent to it and so far I found each iteration's story to be very engaging (I absolutely loved Strange Journey!). In order to survive and progress through the game, you must recruit demons as well as learn how to fuse 2-3 demons together. Each demon has elemental strengths and weaknesses and certain situations require that you take advantage of that fact in order to survive. The view is 1st person similar to the Wizardry series.

Thanks for the pointers as I can use them! I guess I didn't realize that auto battling used up mp. I'm going to do my best not to touch this again though till I beat EO4 otherwise I will be endanger of not picking it back up for a very long time and I should at the very least be about 75% done with it!

Your demons will if you just select "SWORD/GO." Some of mine will keep casting expensive spells on small enemies that don't really merit such a response.

Yeah, hehe, I really need to give this a break and go back to EO4. But you're letting yourself be tempted by another game as well, right? Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate? It's hard to play one game to completion with all of these fantastic 3DS games coming out.

Yeah but the problem with Monster Hunter is there really is no end to it! It could be played forever . At least I have a bit of a break from buying games till Donkey Kong comes out. I will take that I guess.

You''re playing it on the 3DS, right? How limiting has it been being unable to access online multiplayer?

Let's put it this way. I'm about 40 hours in and feel like I've barely scratched this game. So much content and it looks so pretty on the 3ds. I'm not missing online too much right now plus I just got the cpp for my xl early last week.

Sounds logical.

Also, on a side note: When Nemissa first shows up, she tells Hitomi "Your body is ready"
