I'm really enjoying my SSF4 3D Edition for long now, because mainly I like the game. I haven't played any Street Fighter games before that, but I knew them. I also have an Xbox 360 but never owed SSF4 on it. Now the recent release of SSF4 Arcade Edition has really brought me the idea of buying it on the Xbox. But it's unfortunate this can't be downloaded/added on the 3DS. If it had DLC SpotPass at one point, it couldn't have brought the DLC of Arcade Edition on it anyway since it costs money. I just wish the 3DS was up to that. It can easly do this but yet.. they don't. I'm hoping some kind of DLC downloads in the future eShop/etc. but I think that would be rare.

Evil Ryu and Oni would be so awesome in 3D. (Yeah, those two characters may seem lame to others who aren't really interested in the game but I'm a bit fanatic for Super Street Fighter 4)

I believe Ono "giggled" when asked if Arcade Edition is coming to 3DS. It's certainly possible.

Don't be surprised if you wake up one morning with a notice about a simple update for your SSIV game.

Software is patchable on the 3DS so its possible, but Capcom giving us the DLC or releasing it as another stand alone title... hmmm thats a different question.

...if it was Tecmo, then we would have it. The two 3DS games that I have from this publisher are very well supported via regualr DLC, with extra outfits, weapons and even completely new giaden levels they are really setting a standard for FREE DLC

I'm not certain how patchable 3DS software actually is; the games currently using DLC clearly had planned mechanisms in place for the specific types of content they would be adding via DLC. I still doubt that changes to an existing game which were not planned in advance could retroactively be initiated. In other words, if Capcom didn't structure SSFIV so that the arcade edition content could be added into it via update, I doubt that they can now decide to patch it in.

Twitter is a good place to throw your nonsense.

Well it is too late for that, because there is not enough space for putting DLC in 3DS game catridge. Since it is a launch game, the game data size holds up to 2 Gigabyte. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Making promise is easy. The hard part is keeping it.

Well, they don't nessesarily have to use the entire 2 GB, so there is the possibilty of DLC, but ultimately it's up to Capcom to decide whether or not this is a feature wirth spending time and energy developing for one of their games.

Exactly.

I was rather thinking they would update the game for retailing, like they did for the Xbox 360 and PS3. And maybe, the people who bought the older version could swap their game with it.

Maybe the data is already on there, and a SpotPass update would unlock it

Dead or Alive dimensions stores the DLC in the sd memory. And I believe the games can be patched this way too, because, after some spot pass updates I started to feel DOAD was running faster with 3d on and with shorter loading times than before. Although I´m not 100% sure about this.

@onsokumaru Quite a few people commented on the speed and smoothness of the menu screens on DOA. I myself noticed the very same thing sometime after the last minor system update we had.

it's possible to patch the card...i remember when the big update came up...DOAD had audio syncing problems and then the recent update fixed it.

Plus don't forget about ridge racer.

So i believe that the arcade edition is possible for the 3ds...i really hope it would come out. I"m going to stand flooding the capcom forums requesting this. Because i'm sure it's one of those things that if the fans want it...they would bring it.

They're finally talking about their latest decisions over Street Fighter Arcade Edition 3D and Street Fighter x Tekken on the 3DS! Check out their latest interview on this site, http://www.siliconera.com/2011/07/29/street-fighter-x-tekken-...

Here's a quote of being interessed into making an AE version of SSF4 3D, and willing to listen to suportive fans:

It’s possible. For the 3DS, I wanted to do an [Super Street Fighter IV:] Arcade Edition version, but I haven’t had a chance to do that because of all the other things I’m up to. At the company, we’re debating should we go for an AE port on 3DS? Should we skip that and go straight to Street Fighter x Tekken? There are a lot of things up in the air, so I can’t say for sure what our next 3DS project will be.

What will move the release AE on Nintendo 3DS forward?

This is driven by my personal policy and the team’s policy is once you put out a product you also have to follow up, take care of your audience, and make sure their needs are being met. When we talked at the panel we wanted to get feedback from users on rebalancing and tweaking they would like to see in Arcade Edition.

It would be the same for 3DS, we released Super and we want to make sure people are being taken care of. That’s basically my thought process behind how we take care of fans. We just don’t want to drop a game of them and run away. We’d like to keep the community going, communicate with them, and listen to their requests.

It's great to see this! I want to support in all ways, to wish to see this edition on the 3DS and some improvement. I'm having some ideas coming from the console version of AE. I wish for the 3DS version to have some updated options just like the console version, where you're able to choose the language the characters are speaking while playing. Also diffult BGM soundtracks of rival battle themes and a lot more goodies.

For the gameplay, I would definately like some more panels on the touchscreen to create combos from. I liked the design of Dead or Alive a bit, so I wish they made it like that. Some improved frame rate, sound settings and 3D display would create an ultimate pocket edition of SSF4 AE.

So it looks as though IF they decide to do an Arcade Edition it will not be as an add on but intsead a seperate version... it looks good for Street Fighter x Tekken though..
