I'm not a fan of solitaire, but this game looks quite interesting so I'll give it a try, thanks for the advice. It will all depend in how much I enjoy the demo.
What about you? Have you decided to buy it?
Just finished the demo... bring on the full release!
Seems simplistic at first but actually there's a surprising amount of depth to it with quite afew factors to balance to keep your horse in good shape for the final furlong.
Really quite challenging towards the end of the demo! Hardly won anything in the last few races, made the victories all the sweeter, not massively grind heavy as even your poor stats horse can win a major race if you pull off some super-fast solitaire and get your positioning right.
Seemed abit too easy at first... then the four and five year old horses got their act together and I was left looking a proper donkey...
I really like this too! Find it to be more original than weird. There is a lot of depth to be found in the quite long demo. Will definitely buy this when it releases. It's also nice that you can transfer your demo save data to the full release
It's a very simple kind of Solitaire, you just need to eliminate cards by choosing a card of a directly higher or lower value than the last card you picked.
(With A and K being contiguous)
For example, the first card is an A and the currently free cards include a 2 and a K, you can eliminate either. And you go from there, until you have no more cards or available moves.
I played through the demo and I'm not sure what I expected. It's fun and looks good for sure. But I agree with what others have said, I'm not sure how long this would hold me. I bet the demo is just missing things that spice it up though, they almost always do that.
Have enjoyed playing the demo, can see it being great for a quick 20minute pick up and play a few races. But can also see myself killing an hour on it.
Will look to pick it up but probably not straight away as I've got the humble games to get through. Has there been any news on the price yet?

The majority of the dialogue is cringe (not the good kind), the learning curve is long, and there's some elements of game i still don't understand. But once you get to it (well at least the general gist of what goes on) You'll get hooked to the point that you'll lose hours just racing, to the point of me calling it the best horse racing simulator out there. (I'm scared of buying this.)
This probably is the best Horse Racing sim right now. Because how many competitors does it have? I can totally agree on the Cringworthyness of the dialog. A few puns were amusing but others I just wanted it to stop. Feels like at times it's being directed away from my age range.
I think I won two races in total. I was losing so much it started highlighting which cards to select, but even then, I'd still enter the final stretch with hardly any stamina and crawl in 10th. I named my jockey "Frankie" after Frankie Dettori, but he may as well have been Frankie Boyle.
I performed well enough in the solitaire, I kept mainly in the comfort zones, but whenever I began the race, I'd usually have to settle for the crap starting card, and subsequently, find myself knocked way out into the outside track. I might have to play the demo again.
Downloaded this a couple of days ago. It's a fun game. I'll buy it when I have more time to play it. I'm getting some really slow starts now. At first I kept finding the best START! card really fast but the last race I played I made my way to one of the cards and it was the worst one, I tried to find something else but I had to take the worst one due to the time limit. Made my way to the second place though. Has anyone else paid attention to the horse names? There are some references to Pokémon. I've seen Pikapika Mouse and Bullet Seed so far. I wonder if there are any horses named after other Game Freak games. Harmo Knight would make a good horse name.
It's its, not it's.

I'm really enjoying this game. I don't agree with some of Thomas's review as I still think skill wins the day most of the time. As for the score I can't argue with it though. It's a strong 7 and that's about it. I still can't put the game down though.
As for starts if you pay close attention when the cards drop you can see where the 5 gem card is. Just keep flipping cards till you get the right ones to uncover it. I get the best start about 80% of the time.

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.
