My guess is it could well be about the Wii U. However I would like it if they announced F-Zero or a new Metroid game for the 3DS. Maybe more online possibilities for the 3DS too? It doesn't have enough online games. >_>
I'd like to know more about the Wii U but I don't think they're really planning to tell us much more until next year. Pretty sure this will be a 3DS related thing, but we'll just have to wait and see. =P
They're gonna do something with them someday, as Nintendo is on a mission to make a sequel to every moderately successful NES game ever.
It's probably a good idea to use characters from Smash Bros, anyway, since everyone who plays it will already be familiar with them. Nintendo should be exploiting that as a marketing strategy, and have Smash Bros add old characters a few years before they release a revival for those characters.
If it's THAT huge, then I would say Pokemon. That would guarantee the 3DS some sales worldwide. Monster Hunter would boost up the sales dramatically in Japan, so I hope it's that, too.

I'm willing to bet that the 3DS will see this at some point in its life but not any time soon. Probably holiday 2012 at the very earliest. As far as this announcement goes, I really have no idea what it could be. I'm guessing it will just be something totally unexpected and out of left field. Perhaps a new Miyamoto IP? A man can dream...

Yeah, they wouldn't make it into a huge announcement. If they were smart, they would save it for their next handheld's launch, like how Ocarina of Time was used to keep people interested in the 3DS.

Eh, honestly I'm kinda tired and done with those games....DS game was fun, and the Wii version was like a time capsule somewhat. (I enjoyed it, lol) So, yeah...I dunno.

As much as the game rocks I would hate that. I'd rather buy the original cart and have an original Zelda game on the 3DS already. I'm still sticking to a new F-zero, but a revival of any classic Nintendo series would be great!

Hopefully Last Story or Zenoblade or Pandora's Tower. But most likely, they're going to unveil a new first party game. Maybe give more details on Paper Mario or Animal Crossing. Or hopefully Banjo Threerie.
