Topic: Monster Hunter 3DS

Non of the american Monster Hunter PSP games have online either. You can get online using Ad-hoc party or Xai kai but both of those are using third party systems. So if im on campus without my computer I can only play local.

To be honest, killing monsters in the same room with my friends was much more fun than killing monsters with random people and wasting 4 minutes figuring out how to write and send "Thank you!".

The only bad part is that my monster-hunting companions don't have 3DSs and they hate having to pay for their games (don't ask).

I guess if the game includes a good single player mode I'll be ok.

Considering there's no online mode, I hope the single player mode has enough content to make it worth buying (if it even comes out here) considering I already have Tri on Wii.

I guess at least no online means I won't be just stuck playing with a bunch of Germans like I am nearly every time I play Tri online.

I've never played any of the other games, but yeah....It's like, after completing the "story mode" or whatever, you'll be able to go to the new town. Which is basically like going to Loc Lac city, with harder quests and high rank stuff, only offline. Then there's the "G Rank" stuff, where I'm assuming where the subspecies rolls in and the quests are even harder.

Sounds like there'll probably be enough content to justify getting this, even if most of it is pretty much the same as on Wii.
Just the fact that I can play it in bed or while I'm out is a pretty good incentive.

Not sure what you mean by "same on the Wii"...there's a lot of new content on here if you never played Portable 3rd.

Yeah, well I'm aware that there is a lot of new content, but am I mistaken to think that there will also be a lot of content pretty similar to what was on Tri?
Considering it hasn't even been announced outside of Japan yet (right?), I don't really know too much about exactly what to expect, but from what I've picked up it's kind of like an expanded version of Tri, with a lot of extra content, and minus the online play.
Feel free to correct me, because I don't really know too well.

I just don't really want to buy a whole new game unless there is enough added to the experience to make it worth another purchase... but from what I've seen/heard I'm pretty sure that there's enough there for me to want to spend the money on it.

Okay Capcom, now with the next MH we want every single monster in any MH game ever, all squished together. Great Jaggi and Kut-Ku can coexist in peace >:[

@Arcanum: Black Diablos has been in MH since MHF1 on the PSP, Icy agna was a subspecies intoduced in MHP3... So nothing new :3

I expect Capcom to throw an online mode in for the Western audience and a budget rerelease of the game in Japan with said online mode if they localize it. They never did it with Freedom Unite, sure. But lots of people really want it here with an online mode.

Personally, I'll take it with or without- I just want MHTriG.

And I'm saying this because they did this with TvC. The demand of the game was pretty high but everyone kept requesting an online mode that wasn't in the original Japanese TvC. Like Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom, TvC Ultimate Allstars is an enhanced game of the original. Dunno why I should really explain, but it's an example.

Yeah, subspecies, they've returned from Portable 3rd....you can look at them on the Wikia page. Basically...
Qurupeco - Has the element of thunder, can produce a blinding flash. Lives in F. Forest and Volcano.
R. Ludroth - Poison...pretty much the same as the normal one other than that.
Barroth - As far as I know, nothing really special other than he's ice-based. In 3rd he can perform a full U-Turn while charging.
Gigginox - Thunder element, can't lay eggs...can pin you down without using the ceiling.
Barioth - Lives in Desert, can create a tornado...probably just as annoying, lol.
Diablos - I think in 3rd the normal one doesn't do the "catapult" move as much, but Black Diablos does it more often, and I think it enters rage mode more often too.
Uragaan - Same as regular Uragaan, instead of sleeping gas it causes Soiled. (dunno what it does, ask Zez, lol) Also the rocks it tosses stay on fire for a little bit after thrown. Causes Soiled when they explode.
Agnaktor - Lives in Tundra, armor works backwards...hardens when he goes underground, softens over time when above ground. Causes Waterblight.
I don't own 3rd, but that's some of the changes in the subspecies I know based on the Wikia.

Haven't fought any of the subspecies yet since they're all High-Rank, but I think spoiled is the stuff that requires deodorant to remove? Like when Congalala farts on you u_u

"Black Diablos returned in Monster Hunter Portable 3rd for High Rank quests.

Black Diablos' attacks in 3rd are the same as the common Diablos in the same game, but it catapults itself more often than its yellow/brown counterpart. In fact, it uses this move as often as the Diablos met in Tri.
Interestingly, some brown markings are visible on Black Diablos in P3rd, further supporting that Black Diablos is a usual member of its species with color changes due to hormones (see above). "

I thought it just lowered your affinity, maybe they'll change it around...I also kinda figured they dropped it since not many monsters used the dragon element. So maybe they're bringing it back, lol I dunno. But yeah Jin's sub has the dragon element.
