Ever since the 3DS was shown, many franchises just came flowing in through my mind. I wondered about Kirby's Epic Yarn on the 3DS and how cool the 3D effects would look. Then, just thinking about some other games and one stood out.

Monster Hunter.

Being new to the series, as I bought MH3Tri as my first game of the series, I kept think how awesome Monster Hunter would look on the 3DS. For one, the controls would be far much better thanks to the 3DS' touch screen to be used as a substitute for analog- seamlessly moving the camera around where the PSP, for some, it was a struggle (for me as well, playing the demo).

Stats, map, items and the like would be on the bottom screen with a little 'virtual analog' stick on the side, or it could just be a 'slide' thing like those DS games like Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days (Is that the number of days for that title anyways?).

So many possibilities and I highly doubt Capcom would miss such a stellar opportunity. Imagine a Rathalos shooting that hot fireball towards you- popping out at you. Or.. Well, that would be inappropriate to say haha, but I'm sure weirdos would like to see what I was about to say. Or not.

But anyways, I'm really looking forward to a Monster Hunter game on the 3DS. Please let it happen, Capcom. Please oh please.. D:

... Not sure how well that would work, since it's mostly a flat game.

Monster Hunter though, would be cool if it could get good controls and a great online mode.

When Kirby pulls on those zippers, swings around, and splosion effects- i could see that working in 3D.

I'm sure if MH comes on 3DS, it will have a robust online mode no doubt. So I hope.

I would kill for MH3D and to have a good online system

I've already thought of this, and the one thing that I think would be the most troublesome is controlling the camera. You'd either have to take your thumb off the slidepad and rotate the camera with the d-pad, or control it with the touch-screen. Neither of those options sound very appealing. Of course, they could add a lock-on feature, but that'd counter the play-style of MH. Also, from what I've heard the camera controls absolutely suck in the PSP versions.

They could take out the camera controls completely. (well, not completely)
Well, like it will stay focused on the monster you're dealing with, unless you're trying to escape (like it could go back to normal if you get too far away from it). I dunno, maybe it wouldn't work well, maybe it would...lol. But yeah, been wishing for it to come on the 3DS too....but no, Capcom chooses the PSP for its next handheld game. >_>

I'm sure Capcom will find a way around the camera control. Sliding your thumb sounds fine, or having a transparent virtual analog stick like those iTouch-Phone-Pad games would work too.

Or you could just use the buit in sensor that everyone forgets about and move your 3DS to control the camera.

That is TLinkerbell to you!

I have all 3 psp versions, the camera is not too big a problem in those games, so I dont think it would be too bad on the 3ds. But of course this is just me, I have little to no problem playing it.

I played the demo versions- personally, found the camera somewhat of a problem but it IS manageable especially when you get used to it, I'm sure.

you could use L+R for the camera, assuming the 3DS's shoulder buttons don't suck

I'm sure the L button would be used for scrolling through the items, or a single tap will move the camera to where the character is facing from behind. There are many possibilities with this, however.

Honestly, It was such a big hit on the wii, there is no doubt there going to make it on the 3ds. I mean, just imagine a diablos charging at you and his horns looking like they come out of the screen, or when a monster tail swings, how it will look as if it is coming out of the screen, or even underwater battles..... OMG!!!! they can do so much with this! oh and btw, i am new here lol

i'm hoping for a slide your thumb across the screen thing. and the thing that is most appealing to me is the fact that all the health bars, map, and all the other HUD's would be on the bottom screen leaving the top screen to focus on all the beatiful terrain and nothing more.

Currently playing:
3DS: KI: Uprising
Wii: Xenoblade Chronicles

What is it with people wanting only Wii games on their 3DS?

Guess I'm alone, but I'd like 3DS exclusive games that I can't play on my Wii. I'm not buying games over again just to play them in 3D on a smaller screen.

I want games like Kid Icarus. Not ones like Monster Hunter 3DS, Super Smash Bros. 3DS, Wind Waker 3DS, (any other Wii title) 3DS.

As far as I know Alex, the portal Monster Hunter games are different than the console ones...not entirely sure but I doubt the PSP games are like the PS2 ones.

I'm not saying that they should bring Monster Hunter Tri to 3DS. And why not bring 'A' Monster Hunter title to the 3DS? We already have Mario Kart 3DS, RE 3DS and Super Street Fighter IV 3DS. It's not a particular game of the series I want, but an original Monster Hunter game on the 3DS.

Windwaker would be nice, especially for those who missed it. Why not bring remakes over and improve on them? You know, you don't have to buy it- but at the same time I understand why you don't want remakes or exact ports of games. The fact that people will have that mindset of "ALL 3DS games are remakes". That, I understand. But I think developers are trying to 'experiment' with past titles to see how they would look like in 3D, and then release an original new game.

I'm hoping that if Monster Hunter does come to 3DS, that it would be an original and not a port of the Wii title- as amazing as that game is.

And Smash Bros. (subtitle here) 3DS? Why not?

Only reason I would THINK about getting Wind Waker if it came out on the 3DS is to see that missing dungeon I've heard about.

I don't care about developer's intentions and all that stuff.

It's just silly that Nintendo comes out with a great new handheld, and everyone here just wants more of the same.

There hasn't been a thread about what cool, totally new games could take advantage of the 3D. The closest I saw was the Fallout 3DS thread, props to him.

In other scenarios, Nintendo fans complain about Nintendo using the same IPs over and over, but what do people want on Nintendo's new handheld? More of the same.

Apparently I'm the only one that would like totally new experiences.
