Best 3DS game is system settings. Have about 500 hours on that bad boy. So much replay-ability and it's pretty challenging too. I'd give it an 11/10. Must have for any 3DS owner.
Oh sweet! I got it for free with my 3DS! Thank for the review!

Actually I found the challenge to be off-putting; 11/10 people never made it past the title screen. :/
I never played any RPG's but I want to try some. I heard Monster Hunter is really good and might pick it up and check it out. I want to find a game for my wife to play because her job is really stressful. I like my 3ds because I can lay in bed and just chill and not have to go in the man cave to play my console. It's a shame that some people believe that you can't enjoy a 3DS and not be a parent or a spouse. My motto is you have to grow up, but not old.
I'm 33 and I highly recommend Fire Emblem Awakening. I must have put 100 hours into that one.
Tharja is okay, but Noire was pretty boring and "grr, i'm angry, you pathetic fish" once in a while. Now, if we're talking good characters...
That reminds me of one of my complaints regarding Awakening: Very few characters actually had anything to do with the plot at all, and you rarely recruited enemies. Also, best recruitment theme is missing
I'm 31, the 3DS pulled me back into gaming after being away for a good while, I knew I wanted one since Kingdom Hearts 3D and Ace Attorney v Professor Layton were announced before launch (ironically I have not been able to play aa v. pl yet as its not been released in U.S. but at least I got AA 5) after getting a 3DS I remembered how much I enjoy gaming and now I'm really into it, have ended buying a Vita and a PS3 due to my renewed interest on gaming (project x zone made me interested in trying resonance of fate and valkyria chronicles)
34 Year old Married Bakery manager love the 3DS XL during my downtime (And or early mornings when waiting for things to proof etc) All the nintendo classics i loved as a kid and still today (Even love Pokemon to this day)and yet mature JRPG's and games like RE Revelations thrown into the mix.

I'm 37 with two kids, 4 and 2. Both boys. Fire Emblem is very good. I enjoyed that more than I thought I would. Monster Hunter is a great choice. However, you cannot play online with the 3DS version. That being said, there are plenty of hours to go through offline.
I'm mature by gaming standards (26) lol. I think this whole 'Nintendo is for kids' thing has been really overdone.
It's all based on a very superficial impression of the variety of games for a console. Most Nintendo games are quite colourful. Therefore they're for kids. Absolute nonsense. And conversely, the idea that Xbox and PS tend to be more for adults is ridiculous. Xbox is for male sociopathic teenagers. First person shooters are a lot more childish than Mario or Zelda in my opinion.
Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance (it may be a bit more "kiddie" than you're looking for, but it's a great game, especially if you like Disney)
Lol yeah, Kingdom Hearts doesn't really make a console look mature. The first 2 were good games and all. But my God does it feel like it's been written by a teenager.

to be fair, I'm not sure how you would write Disney and Final Fantasy fanfiction as an adult

And now the whole childish thing is just the other way around, and both partys are guilty of the same misconception.

Welcome to Japanese RPGs
Not all are like that obviously, but I feel like "the power of friendship" is a bit too present in the genre
I'm 30 years old, own an xbox360, a psvita (which I regret having bought) and a 3DS. My girlfriend has one too and ps3... there's no age for gaming. You either like it or not, considering childish a person just because their choice of hobby is lame and deserves no attention.
Now, regarding games, I have given some time to SMT IV and Pokemon Y, both good, Pokemon may look you know... but that thing has strategy at some point, and it's variety keeps me going.
Now I'm playing Spirit Camera which I found really an amusing experience, never played something like that in my life. I played the older version (Fatal Frames) but this one...the main character is you... pretty awesome. Not for relaxing though...
Also, I wouldn't rush into Monster Hunter.. is not as easy as people make it sound, it's one of the hardest games I've played and finally quit.. due to it's toughness... also the idea of doing the same quest over 30 times to get what you need... nope, it kills me of boredom.. Nice aesthetics though...
If you don't mind playing DS games (new or used) give it a try to Hotel Dusk, a real jewel among many games.., a great pick for me
A lot of people think MH is grindy, but those people are mistaken. Whip out a calculator, those rare drops aren't really as rare as you think. Then again, unless you have some buddies to play with, or you're pretty good at the game, it may still take a lot of time to get new equipment.
I'm a mature gamer (30+). I never intended to be a 3DS owner and not a huge gamer but they snagged me with this limited edition Zelda LBW gold 3DS over the holidays. I couldn't pass it up out of nostaligia alone. Since then I have really enjoyed Super Mario Land 3D, Steamworld Dig, Zelda: LBW and especially Kid Icarus:Uprising and I love the 3D feature, it's definitely more than just a gimmick for me! Haven't touched my 360 in over 6 months.
