I own an immature 3DS, myself. I wish it would grow up.

Come on, friends,
To the bear arcades again.

I disagree, it's a very good game, but I think Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D is the best 3DS game ever.

Agreed. Luigi's Mansion is a close second, though.

By the way, Im a 44 year old gamer.

There are several puzzle games on the 3DS, with Nikoli's Pencil Puzzle and Crossword Plus being my top 2 games, as they offer a lot of bang for the buck. Sorry, no multiplayer for these.
If she likes physics puzzles, then I recommend Pushmo and Crush 3D (there is a demo on the eshop).

For you, I recommend Ridge Racer and Asphalt as other good racing games. The first one can be a little stressful, though. Plus Pilotwings, StarFox 3D and New Leaf. I couldn't stand Monster Hunter at first because for the first 1 hour or so is very slow. My new, I-can't-live-without game, Mario Golf, of course!!! Very relaxing and lots of fun.

I'm a 30 year old gamer, though one who's been jamming at gaming since getting my NES in 1989. I find the 3DS to be easily one of the most enjoyable consoles of this generation, with only a few gaps (of which PC easily fills the rest). I'm personally an action/platformer fan

To me, the single best game on the 3D is Super Mario 3D Land. It also might be my favorite 3D Mario game of all time (and I've played them all) and possibly tied with Mario 3 and World as one of the best Mario games of all time. What I like most about it is the return of the classic 2D gameplay (no hit points, persistent power-ups, singular levels, SMALL MARIO) while also taking advantage of 3D world movement. It also has some of the best uses of Stereoscopic 3D on the system. Which, I should point out is one of my favorite aspects of the 3DS. I always use it (where applicable) and find it adds a lot of character to games that use it well.

Other games I've really enjoyed include, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds (I'd actually like it more if its overworld wasn't quite so familiar), Shin Megami Tensei: Demon Summoner - Soul Hackers (the 3DS has actually done a lot to make me a fan of RPGs, which has historically never been my favorite game genre. Thanks Atlus!)

I'm looking forward to Persona Q and Azure Striker Gunvolt in the future. Also to catch-up on 3DS titles I just don't have yet, like Star Fox 64 3D, New Super Mario Bros 2, Fire Emblem: Awakening (hilariously, this is the game I bought the system for... and then never bought. doh), and Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, and Mario & Luigi: Dream Team. So... still lots to look forward to!

I'm a 45 year old gamer and my husband and I prefer tactical strategy games when we want a more relaxing gaming experience. It's already been mentioned but I highly recommend Fire Emblem...the series! Bravely Default was another game I played in bed to unwind but I haven't picked it up lately.

3DS games I've played and liked include Super Mario 3D Land, Pokemon X+Y, Bravely Default (very good JRPG), Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, Animal Crossing: New Leaf.. As for mature games, perhaps a selection from the Shin Megami Tensei or Etrian Odyssey series? They are on sale now on the eshop I believe. Those are both JRPGs, though I've yet to play them.

I'm currently playing Conception II, its a game that is mature in content.. but it has a lot of juvenile dirty references that might not appeal to the "mature" gamers the game is rated for.

For a relaxing game, Animal Crossing: New Leaf. If you know the mechanics of an Animal Crossing game and take the time to research all the unlockable content and customization options (some are actually pretty hard to find, most casual AC players skip over a lot of content in New Leaf unknowingly) you can sink hundreds of hours into it. New Leaf is fantastic- playing it at first feels like reaching nirvana. Absolute zen. Of course not everyone feels the same, but I'm an Animal Crossing fan so forgive me!

3DS (Playing): Bravely Default, Conception II, DKCR, SMT:IV
3DS Wishlist: Kirby TD, Smash, Pokemon AS, Fantasy Life, Persona Q, Etrian Odyssey Untold
Wii U (Playing): Mario Kart 8, Wind Waker HD, Monster Hunter 3U, DKCTF, Zombi U, Shovel Knight
Wii U Wishlist: Bayonetta 2, Hy...

And here I was thinking that 30+ year-old men ruled the industry. (And, let's be honest, keep the Virtual Console going so, uh, thanks guys!).

I've been trying to get my dad to buy a 3DS, so he can play GB Tetris but he's...still happy playing GB Tetris on his Game Boy SP. That guy!

I'm assuming you're joking. Why would one buy a 3DS to download Tetris for the GB...especially when they already own it?

@Geonjaha Well I was joking! But the 3DS might just be THAT awesome...

I'm a 26 year old 3DS gamer. I think it's unfortunate the system has a reputation for being a "kid's device". I see no difference between gaming on the 3DS and gaming on an iPhone (except for the 3DS provides a much richer gaming experience IMO).

I'm a mature gamer (30+). I never intended to be a 3DS owner and not a huge gamer but they snagged me with this limited edition Zelda LBW gold 3DS over the holidays. I couldn't pass it up out of nostaligia alone. Since then I have really enjoyed Super Mario Land 3D, Steamworld Dig, Zelda: LBW and especially Kid Icarus:Uprising and I love the 3D feature, it's definitely more than just a gimmick for me! Haven't touched my 360 in over 6 months.

I fell into owning a 3DS after I got tired of being disappointed by iPhone games (little challenge or depth) and was enticed by Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon. Like you, I discovered all sorts of great games after that.

I'm 41 and have had my 3DS almost a year. In that time it has become my most used console. I am married with 4 kids so not needing the TV to play is a big plus.
My favorite games include:

Mario Kart 7
Animal Crossing New Leaf
Mario Golf
Ridge Racer
Picross (the DS version)
Angry Birds Trilogy

I have recently discovered a love for platformers and am also enjoying DK/Yoshi and am getting Kirby for fathers day

Don't forget offerings on the e-shop, a very strong aspect of the 3DS.
