Some people believe that mario games today are just not as good as what they used to be. If you guys had a choice, what would be good additions from previous games ? Mines would be most of the features from mario sunshine. It is and probably will always be my favorite mario game. It makes mario look like an extreme janitor.
Features from the game I would like to see again-
The obstacles: It is just something I LOVE about stages that floats in mid-air, have weird backgrounds, and have strange blocks that moves, and is straight foward also the classy version of mario's theme song. XD
Chasing shadow mario: This was fun because he uses every trick mario had in order to get to hard to reach places. since you are chasing him, you will have to make use of those flips and jumps as well. This makes this mode challenging in a way.
surfing with squids: I don't know, I just like it...
Spin jump: I honestly don't know why the spin jump was not included in other games...
Well not a sequel XD
But thats good to :3
Inwas hoping to create a thread where everyone would be able to suggest a feature from the previous games. Then be able to imagine what the game would be like.
that sounds really crazy, but the more I think about it, the more I like it. What if you had to collect a certain amount of stars for each planet. (and actual planets, not big chunks of rocks...-_-)

(and actual planets, not big chunks of rocks...-_-) ... and we have freedom on each planet u_u. Meaning we could do anything there even if it is completely unrelated to the current missio.
I'm a fan of large scale games, which typically fall into the strategy genre rather than the action category.
But Mario has room to grow. And developing a galaxy of planets with individual needs, well, that sounds compelling to me!
I'm still hoping for the 3d mario game in the mushroom kingdom. I guess traversing the mushroom kindom would be from the NES era or paper mario...
Though I'd prefer for course design they bring back sunshine's hub world connected to different areas. I liked how sunshine's courses seemed more like actual places instead of floating chunks of rock like 64 and galaxy, but it had too many water levels due to the tropical theme.
Nah, no more sequels for a while. Too many sequels. I want to see something new. I even came up with an idea on the Mario Fanon Wiki. http://mariofanon.wikia.com/wiki/Super_Mario_Revolution
Though, at some point, I'd like to see a Super Mario Sunshine sequel.
Games I'm playing currently: Legend of Zelda: A Link Betweeen Worlds, Tearaway
Games I'm excited for: Super Mario 3D World, Super Smash Bros. 4, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Mario Kart 8

I do agree with sonic. I don't really want more sequels (to be honest though I would be excited)
If there is ever another luigi game, They should call it "luigi: legend of the flowers kingdom!"
In this game, luigi have to rescue daisy.
Another idea is a luigi game based off of finding luigi. (a parkour video on eshop)
The main character should be a tall dude in a luigi costume or some kid with a blue vest, blue pants, and a green T-shirt.
(and no, this is not a joke )
It gets me how people keep wanting something new for 3D Mario, yet they would be perfectly content with a Super Mario Sunshine 2 or Super Mario Galaxy 3. I want something new for Mario's expected second 3D adventure on Wii U. Let him go somewhere different other than Isle Delfino or outer space next time.
Agreed entirely. Reminds me of all the people complaining about the boss battles in the Mario series who then go and say they'd rather fight more freaking Koopalings.
the thing I dislike the most on some recent mario games is that map screen 3D marios don't need THAT calssic mario map screen nor do paper mario need it.... another thing I'd like was said before in this thread, the capacity of free roaming a world without having to be forced into the "current mission" that was mario 64's greatest feature, even having to chose a mission you could also ignore it and get a different star it was great and added lots to the fun!
goodbyes are a sad part of life but for every end there's a new beggining so one must never stop looking forward to the next dawn

i would really like a sidescroller like the first one only two hits, secrets everywhere no continues and one thing not from that it have lots of levels and tons of warps so it can be different every time you played
