Topic: Concern: Where's the hype for Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire?

Hey, I already know there is a thread for the two games but I had to create a new thread over a growing concern I have....

WHERE IS THE HYPE FOR POKEMON OMEGA RUBY AND ALPHA SAPPHIRE?????

Usually when a main Pokemon game gets announced, people are incredibly excited and eagerly awaiting any detail regarding the games. But I am not seeing that at all for Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. I can't help but compare the hype and excitement for Pokemon X/Y to Pokemon O/A and the difference is massive.... People were hungry for X/Y and constantly talking about it. But where is it for O/A? I see that people WANT the games but there isn't exactly that huge excitement for it.

The game isn't really that far away either. Its coming out in November and Gamefreak honestly hasn't said that much about the games besides a few statements and screenshots. Is that why there isn't really that much hype for the games? Not enough information?

Or is it because people are getting burnt out on Pokemon games?

PK O/A got some spotlight during Nintendo's Digital Event but you know what? I honestly didn't really care when I saw the footage. Looking back on it... that REALLY bothers me.
Lemme say that, I'm a HUGE Pokemon fan and that my favorite game of all time is actually Pokemon Platinum. But even I've noticed that I'm not really that excited for PK O/A. Do you guys remember the massive hype X/Y had? Oh, man. It was INSANE. I don't have that O/A....

Any other Pokemon gamers that are feeling the same as me?

I would really appreciate if this thread wasn't locked. I honestly wanna hear opinions on the concern I have.

I'm excited for it. But I'm not all THAT hyped for it because its a remake. Usually I get really really hyped for Pokemon when a new generation of Pokemon is on the way.

Hmmm... I see. I understand that. Excitement for a remake doesn't necessarily mean the same for something new..... I get you.

Thanks for sharing

"Or is it because people are getting burnt out on Pokemon games?"
Pokemon has been on a nearly-yearly release schedule since Blue and Red IIRC. I don't think it's that.

My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.

Probably because they're just remakes of games(or a generation) that was good but not a generally well received as the others. personally I can't say much as I've never played a GEN three game so I'm excited but there hasn't been that much info released on it and to be honest Nintendo showed of way more interesting things than just two remakes of Pokemon games that again there's not too much known about right now.

Capcom at E3: Guys we're sorry about how we've been treating Mega Man so we're gonna make it up to you by releasing the Mega Man Cancelled Collection with all the titles we cancelled in the condition they we're in just before we pulled the plug. Now who wants Street Fighter X Monster Hunter?

Nintendo_Ninja

There isn't a hype drought in sight for these games. It was much greater before E3 and people simply got distracted. Believe me, I have seen at least 2 hype trains worth of hype built up. It almost broke Twitter when it was announced. No worries in sight for it.

I feel that the hype for X and Y was bigger because it was a new generation, but most importantly the first 3DS Pokémon game, so no one knew what to expect regarding character models, overworld, etc.

Now we know that OR/AS will be using the same engine so it lacks that freshness. But in the coming months, as more things get revealed, the hype will be coming. I like Pokémon but I won't get it at launch, since I haven't even gotten my second badge on X.

I will comment in this thread, never being able to find it again.

And on the argument of people not being as hyped for it due to it being a remake, my personal favorite Pokémon game is Heart Gold. Due to that remake being nearly perfect, it's hard not to be hyped for it.

No body has seen anything worth hyping about so far.. we don't know much about the game and what we do know so far is unappealing. We got some new megas.. but meh I've seen better fanart versions.. by the time ORAS releases they'll be patched and added in x/y probably which completely ruins the hype for the games themselves but instead the hype goes to the megas alone. No body really is hyped to battle primal evolutions as much as everybody hates seeing a kangashkan or mewtwo in x/y either.. New megas like sableye who has a really.. REALLY bad ability and stat increases for it's movepool isn't appealing and more makes us worried how they're screwing up other megas as well. Priority recover and priority burn to half everything's attack was nearly broken.. now with magic bounce and some spread going in Sp*A* he's not as defensive as he'll get hit before the recover or will-o-wisp.. all we need was a stat boost in defenses.. not in offenses. All megas got a 100 base stat buff (except alakazam who got 90) so even if it get +90 in defense and 10 in SpA it's still frail in HP..

Does sceptile learn any dragon type moves to make use of that dragon type STAB?

Once we know all the availible megas.. all their stats, abilities.. nothing new from there. The scenery don't look that much different from x/y graphics wise.

Move tutors would honestly be the only reason for me to get the games.. unless troll freak decides to restrict the new megas to ORAS.

All of the Gen III remake extremists who have been spamming the internet for years short circuited and blew. They can't post their hype.

For all the normal people out there, it's just an older version of a current game updated with the current mechanics. It would be like Modern Warfare III being re-released with Ghosts mechanics. Cool, I guess, but why not just play Ghosts?

I'm pretty hyped personally. From what I've seen a lot of other people are too.

While Ruby and Sapphire is my favorite generation, I have way too many games I still need to buy (being unemployed doesn't help) and play to be hyped for this remake. I know my brother will get it and when he starts telling me all the new stuff they added I will probably get more hyped but I still need to play the Pokemon League in X.

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

I've been burnt out on Pokemon games since Ruby and Sapphire originally came out. Can't say I've fully beaten a Pokemon game since then.

I've seen a lot of hype ORAS. Personally, I'm very excited cause I get to look at 3D module of May all day. :3

But in all seriousness. I can see how this is a concern, but I think this stems from the lack of info we know about it compared to how much we knew about X/Y last year. I think once we see a major new addition, say in the same vain as Pokemon following, everyone will get super hyped for ORAS. X/Y were probably hyped a lot more since it was the first introduction to 3D graphics in the main series games, and of course new Pokemon. Granted, I think ORAS hype will grow immensely in the coming months.

There is no hype because the only thing we've seen is Primal forms and a mega for Sableye, wait for Nintendo to publish more info

Seriously? Why get concerned just because people aren't getting overly hyped for what is basically a yearly release franchise now? I'm not hyped because I stopped playing Pokémon Games after Black/White and never looked back.
