Nintendo actually announced this game waaaay back in 2013 for the PAL regions under the final title Dr Kawashima's Devilish Brain Training: Can you stay focused?, and even had a release date and everything, but for reasons unknown they simply declared in the last minute that the game was postponed indefinitely. You can actually still access the game's page on any of Nintendo of Europe's official sites, including Nintendo UK's which is right over here.

Wishing this world would pay any sort of attention to the smaller details.

Still looking forward to this... for four friggin' years now. -.-

"Gee, that's really persuasive. Do you have any actual points to make other than to essentially say 'me Tarzan, physical bad, digital good'?"

Obviously, Nintendo really needs to concentrate more on the release of their games. From the look of the page it was ready for release.

Even if it would not have sold in the millions like the previous Brain Training games have, I'm sure that a physical retail release in Europe and Australia would have been worthwhile. It's not as if these sorts of games are made on a particularly hig budget anyhow. I recall the first game only having a few pages worth of credits, and I was quite excited about the game owing to its odd "devilish" theme.

@sillygostly: Don't give up all hope just yet!
I was asking about amiibo pre-orders at my local GAME and I spotted Brain Training in the clerk's folder. She said it was indeed finally getting released, though couldn't elaborate on a date.
This was a few months ago, however, so I'm surprised there's been no announcement yet. Hopefully this wasn't an individual GAME store getting ahead of itself!

I've noticed that it occasionally appears and disappears from gaming store catalogues in Australia as well, but Nintendo seem to be flip-flopping on when (and whether) they plan on releasing this thing. In any case, I hope that it does not become an eShop exclusive after making us wait for 3 years.

It's not just that individual store, because it's also on their website:

But it might just still be there from two years ago...

The stupid thing about this is, there are Smash trophies and even StreetPass Plaza hats referencing this release but it still isn't here yet.

If it doesn't come out in 2016, I suspect that Nintendo will hold off on releasing it altogether.

Hell, I can understand Nintendo withholding a European release, but surely an Australian release would be worth their while... =/
