Topic: 3DS XL Who's getting one for sure?

I plan on getting it if I have the funds AND I try it out. I plan on trading in my 3DS and asking my old boss (she is the manager at my local GameStop) if I can hide in a corner and transfer my stuff. If not, I will either trade in my 3DS after the fact and use it towards games or "donate" it to my brother, friend, or GF. I might even wait until a black one comes out.

I will get the blue XL model, which will be my first 3DS system.

It'll have to really impress me when I eventually get to try one out if I'm ever going to consider picking one up.
I'll stick to my superior Aqua Blue 3DS for now and will replace that when it's on its last legs.
Hopefully the Colbat Blue model might make its way over here by then.

I'm waiting on the silver one. Plus I'm not anxious out of my mind to stop using my original 3DS just yet, I've only had it for like a year now.

I'm going with the red based on looks. But the rest of the colors are acceptable. In the case of the 3DS XL....I have to go with a color as the normal "safe" Black isn't an option. I had no colors to ponder with Vita. I do wonder about the logic of Nintendo in putting different colors in different regions? Why not make all the colors and distribute all 4 colors evenly with US, Europe, and Japan? Why put Silver in Europe only? And why does the white show up only in Japan? Regardless if I had all four choices I'd still want the red or blue, I'm just in the mood for a bright color. I do think making all 4 colors available, would sell more 3DS XL's. Some people on here mentioned holding out for certain colors. 3DS XL will be a super treat for me as I haven't had or played with a regular 3DS, or XL. So I'm going to break it in with the new Super Mario Brothers 2!

I'll get it assuming reviews don't say that it looks worse graphically than the regular. I'll get blue because I'll never buy red. Wish it was gorgeous professional black like the current one.

Only got my 3DS about 6 months ago. Size wise, the original is perfect for me. I might pick it up after launch of the Wii U.

Definitely going large on the XL tip then I will have 3 consoles stocked. I will store my black one away after transfer and give my club nintendo competition princess peach one to my daughter next year when she turns 3 (I'm the most awesome dad ever) I could imagine it would be like when I first got my Atari 2600 as a pint sized LittleMadAussie so I can't wait for that moment

I like the matte finish on the outside color of the 3DS XL compared to the glossy finish.. It will look better with heavy useage. Nintendo also got it right making the face of both screens bordered with flat black matte finish. That means no slippage during gameplay from the original glossy finish. Especially when your hands perspire a bit during long gaming sessions. Although some will disagree that the 3DS XL should have a face the same color as the rear instead of Black (excluding the white Japan model). For the record, most people confirm the graphics on 3DS XL are as good or better than original 3DS. There is nothing lost or pixelated by the larger screens. I have heard from at least two reviewers, that the 3D effect is enhancedor better on the 3DS XL's larger screen.

Yes I noticed the same thickness between 3DS and 3DS XL. The roundedness of the corners looks more comfy for your hands. Not to mention the matte finish for fingerprints. The screen size is definitely not the only improvement. Right down to the stylus!

Not in America. If you want to buy it when it comes out try Best Buy. Amazon isn't going to sell it, only 3rd party venders so this means the price might be a bit higher for a couple weeks. They don't even sell the Midnight Purple yet.

Hmm... even though I have my regular 3DS already, the proposition sounds good. I know I'll get this eventually, though probably not at launch. I got my regular one for now, so I should be fine till Black Friday or some other sale.

why would the price ($199) be higher? walmart, target, gamestop et all will sell it for what nintendo has set the price at.

3rd party sellers buy items then resell them at what ever price they want on outlets like amazon or ebay. Just as an example, here are some people reselling Xenoblade Chronicles for prices up to $99.99 on amazon.
