If you can, buy it today from Walmart or Target or anywhere else that started the price drop early and connect to the eShop ASAP.

I wanted to know exactly how the ambassador program works; I bought my 3DS on day one, have a nearly an hour total time on the eshop. What if you didnt log into the eshop yesterday but got on a lot before?

@cyphid - If you have connected to the eShop before today, you should have qualified to be an eShop Ambassador. If you want to make sure you're one for sure, you should've gotten a SpotPass notification about the program, and, if connect to the eShop, there should be a news bulletin in the news section stating the same thing as the SpotPass notification. If you have neither of those things, I would call Nintendo ASAP about the problem.

@Birdman13 Thanks! You know what, I do have a spot pass message and I remember reading something about at the eshop like last week but its gone so I kinda got worried.
@cyphid - No problem.
@6. cyphid :-That point had occurred to me, but I don't think you should worry about it. I'm pretty certain that there must be some sort of recognition system in place at the eShop. I got an email from Nintendo Europe which said "all you have to do is visit the eShop once by 11.59 hours on 11th August". I understood that to mean that the "one visit" could take place at any time from purchase of your 3DS up until the deadline last night. So I'm sure you'll be fine when 1st September rolls around - except there will probably be so many people wanting to get into the eShop on the first couple of days that many of us will have to form an orderly queue to get in
Still can't think of a better place to kill some time.Playing Solatorobo and Pokemon White.Waiting for Animal Crossing 3DS - it's taking forever.
Oops! Sorry. Didn't realise so many folks would answer that query.
Thanks so much guys for the replies. I checked Nintendo's FAQ section and it says that as long as you downloaded the latest firmware or been on the eshop before aug 11 your set.
